Despite our differences I must thank you for your earlier recommendations. I rate Mandragora Scream pretty highly. Following your recommendations I bought their first two albums. A Whisper of Dew is the slightly better one IMO though I have to say that on the first play I had memories of Tangerine Dream's - Tyger. The albums are very atmospheric and definitely not what I was expecting - one of those rare moments of getting hold of a gem. Once you get over the accented English (sounds a bit like Diarmuid Gavin) the music is really good. For some unknown reason I can't get hold of a copy of Madhouse without going through some complicated registration procedure on their website which I am not keen to go through.

I tried the pontefract cakes with ice cream but unfortunately the liquid returned to a solid state on hitting the ice cream. Still, the rest of the packet were delicious.  ClapThumbs Up

Thanks again.
It's the differences that keep this place interesting Rob Wink

Glad you liked Mandragora Scream - I haven't got Madhouse either, and don't know whether I will - you can have too much of a good thing sometimes LOL

I forgot to add that I put the pontefract syrup into the icecream while it's still in a semi-frozen state in the icecream maker. Embarrassed

As for the rainwater - you're dead on Lee. Fun part of that: their garden is about 5cm below all of their neighbours, so they'll have a house with a pool when the rain kicks in.

There is a newbuild close to us that has concreted their front garden. Its on a bit of a down hill slope towards the house but even though they have a drainage gulley along the house front there is usually a puddle of water at one end of the concreting. It makes me smirk to myself everytime I pass it. Not only is it adding to the run off problem and creating a micro-desert it would annoy me intensely if it was mine. Shoddy workmanship if you ask me. It has stained the concrete already. Ha. - Not that I am vindictive or owt.

Thanks for considering me, although I have no clue what show you are talking about. I'm living up to expectations right now - I'm likely the only Dutchman with Beef-and-Guinness pie in the oven tonight.

Notice I didn't put myself in the Eggheads team.  I do quite well on it though.

It is better to be an all-grey affair though, rather than have a young(ish) whippersnapper like me biting at your ankles.

I'd look out of place amongst the grey haired farting shenanigans of the Grey Room.

You can jump ahead of the others if you like.

However, I'm also nabbing History, as that's my subject too. LOL

But you're qualified, unlike me. Cry

Lee loves History, as does Jared.  I'm not sure what Chris would want.

Oh and how could I forget Andy?  He can be the Politics guy.

I don't personally like:

Geography
Art and Books
Sport

Although when I last watch the programme, I didn't do too badly at the Sport. LOL  In fact, the last two I watched I didn't know maybe 4 or 5 questions in each show (in any round). Big smile

Right, stuff History - I'm your man for Sport - except horse racing and underwater hang-gliding

And I'm glad we've got a Politics guy on board - cos it sure as hell couldn't be meTongue

I find I always do badly at the subjects I am supposed to know something about though.

If there was a music round for instance, I know I would fail miserably. LOL

I go to a pub quiz every Tuesday and the Music round is always the one I do badly on.

However, it is mostly "Pop Music" and mostly '80s pop music or obscure '70s pop music or even worse, Disco.

There was even a Genesis one I got wrong one week. LOL  It was asking who did the track "Match of the Day"... I didn't know that was by Genesis! Confused

Spot the Pigeon EP.

Apparently so but I've never heard of the Spot the Pigeon EP.

I thought it was a song from Whacky Races. LOL

I can cover a few bases:
Art
Literature
Pop trivia (in frankly embarassing depth)
Philosophy (not much call for it in your average pub quiz, but you never know)

I'm not much cop when it comes to sports trivia though.

My mate down the pub has embarrassing pop music knowledge too.  He knows lyrics to random songs I've never even heard of.

I was actually in a winning team the other day.  It's the first time for me.  The teams I usually am with come second.

I think I'm changing team again this week as someone else asked me to join their team 'cause they do badly every week. LOL  I cannot say no to a pretty girl it seems. Embarrassed

An egg heads team from The Shed? What a fab idea - although I believe James's confidence in me as a team member may be a tad over-confident... that said, it could be worth making an intellectual fool of myself on TV, just to get the chance of taking the smug Egg-Head captain to one side & giving him a good shoe-ing.

It must be one of those Zen gardens that are so fashionable these days Wink

Our garden's currently a builders yard to an extent, as one of our friends is building us what can only be described as a full width roofed veranda (or indeed a huge open posh shed); as usual, his building quality is such that it's not so much attached to the house, as the house is attached to it.

Looking so good, it's inspired V&I to work on the rest of the garden so we've been busy bees this weekend & I've been converted to the beauty of Scarlet Lobelia Queen Victoria.

A roofed veranda is a great addition Jim, especially with the English weather - we have one and now the patio is more or less redundant (which is why I converted half of it to a fish pond), we use the "veranda" all the time (though veranda is too posh for what we have - it use to be a car-port but it was too good a space for a car - when Debs was discussing what we should call it instead I shrugged and said "You can call it Malcolm for all I care..." - so we did LOL.)

A magnificent plant Clap - so much better that those puny (and quite untidy) little trailling lobelia bedding plants.
