Havn't followed the Yankees at all this year. Probably for the best, from what I have heard from my brother and father it hasn't been pretty. It is sad....I remember the good ol days as a kid when the Yanks went to 5 World Series, won 4 including 3 in a row!

How the mighty have fallen.....
I mean, I know no team can stay on top but to see them spending more than some countries probably do and suck so bad....Dead

Besides that...hows this season been? LOL

They care too much about buying a team and overpaying for a stadium that's a carbon copy of the old one.

Season has gone very well so far...rough start for the Cubbies but things seem to be turning around, Cards can't play this well all year I mean Joel Pinerio has to come to earth soon.

And I'm sure there is a 70 year old Yankee fan who remembers the 5 straight titles in his youth...how I'd die for that... but patience my friendsSmile

Cards can keep this up because they have Albert Pujols and Rick Ankiel, plus a surprisingly decent pitching staff considering the lack of Carpenter.

BTW, I really hope Ankiel has another great season.  He's the coolest story in baseball.

I'd...um...rather not discuss the Yanks right now.  The team isn't playing well, and Girardi is compounding it through severe bullpen malpractice.

I've been doing pretty well, just finishing out my senior year and getting ready to go to Carnegie Mellon University next year.

BTW, you just missed out, we made a progarchives fantasy league a couple of weeks ago.

Royals are handing it to the Mariners pretty good tonight. Actually a good pitching performance...and it's not Grienke.

Seems that ol' Manny Ramirez has been dabbling in the performance enhancing juice and suspended 50 games. I love it. The guy's a pinhead!

^ Sigh...yea, really does piss me off when great talents, (in ANY aspect of life) blow their career by stupidity.
Besides Manny, I never could believe how A-Rod managed to do it. How he can be one of the GREAT players of the game currently and be so honestly despised, even by his own team's fans! Most Yankee fans I know/hear hate him, or tolerate him as a HR hitter.

Amazing, truly.

To make it even worse, he was juicing with a WOMEN'S FERTILITY DRUG.

Just Manny being Manny?

Yanks actually played a good game! Everyone who should be hitting actually hit, and CC FINALLY pitched a great game.

I really hate it, but the Yanks need A-rod

The Baseball Gods were looking down on the Tigers last night.. Their 1-0 victory over the Indians last night very well may be their game of the year.  Verlander pitches a 2-hit complete game shutout.  The one run scores in the 8th inning on a walk by Curtis Granderson.  He stole 2nd.  He would have been a dead duck except the catcher's throw was high and he just beat the tag. He went to third on Polanco's ground out to short (the 2nd out).  Clete Thomas hit a routine groundball to 2nd base, but the 2nd baseman double clutched on the throw and Clete Thomas just beat it out, with Granderson scoring on the play.  Then with 1 out in the 9th inning and a guy on first base, Grady Sizemore hits a ball 400 feet to Centerfield for a game winning walk off homer.  Except for one thing.  Curtis Granderson skied at the fence and instead it was just the 2nd out of the inning.  Verlander struck out the final batter for his 12th strikeout of the game and to seal the Tigers' victory.  It was a great ending to a great game (if you are a Tiger fan anyways) and hopefully is the kind of win that will get them going further in the right direction.

^Not. 8-0 Dodgers  Wink
I think thwe Dodgers are better with Manny but they are still pretty good without him.  As long as they get the starting pitching and the closer to continue they wil be alright.
