I´m listening to this one at the moment (Cyaegha - Steps of Descent (2008)):
Quality technical death metal. I think fans of Morbid Angel will be pleased.
Anyone else enjoying this one?

Seeing The Faceless live is so much better than they are on album! Do that next, you will be blown away!

As a general rule of thumb, I absolutely hate all tech/extreme metal. Usually it's mostly the growling that I can't stand and I'm also rarely a fan of the instrumentation. A friend of mine said that he just fell in love with the band Disillusion. In my effort to be somewhat open-minded, I checked them out and listened to the one song they have on PA, "Alone I Stand In Fires." I was absolutely blown away by the first 3 or so minutes until it became insanely extreme as the genre suggests. I'm going to borrow the CD from my friend when I see him next and give them a chance. If anything can get me into this genre, Disillusion will be it.

By the way. Protest The Hero - Fortress was atrocious. Wish I could get my money back and buy that Muse record I saw instead.

haha. what a false! (just kidding) Disillusion is moreso Prog metal than tech metal imo. so don't go judging the whole genre based on that band. They are decent, but there are far better bands who happen to be technical. If you don't like it, your loss. No need to flame on here though.... just so you know, as a rule of thumb, I absolutely hate those who hate tech metal....

Yes, both bands are awesome. I can see why some people don't like PtH. However, to call it atrocious is just wrong!

Besides, anyone who knows me would have realized that comment about PtH was said very feciciousely. I haven't even listened to this thing long enough to really grade it. I just felt in a button-pushing mood today, guys. Sorry.

Yes, I have had my share of online bullying and e-terror! I would here and now like to announce my pledge to try to be a noble and just and do-gooder online! I've had it with online jerks. Anybody with me? Let's treat each other like neighbors....after all, we all have at least one BIG thing in common; this place... let's not pollute it with petty arguments and lofty elitism and the ridiculousness of long, loopy arguments. Let's have a love-in! We can agree to disagree and still maintain a courteous relationship. This ideal will also reflect well in your personal life too! Whose with me? Stand up and declare your love for prog and all its sub-genres, but also your love for your fellow progheads!
