Many years ago we found one of our cats contentedly crunching on a squirrel's head behind the armchair - nothing since, though.

Nice, was the rest of the squirrel attached to it?
I did find the bottom half of a rat in our back garden recently, but I don't think it was our cats that caught it, they're too stupid. We have a black and white cat who hides in the grass and thinks the birds don't know she's there. They've never caught anything between them, even when we had mice in the house.

Our cat never even bothers to chase the squirrel. She brings in mice a lot though (usually alive) and once brought in a bird.

Had a cat growing up - it took out many a field mouse, but nothing else. It tried sizing up a groundhog once, and wisely thought better of it

Rabbits are our cats' vermin of choice at the moment, but they are in competition for those with the buzzards we have in the neighbouring field.

When I was young growing up in the country our cat dragged in a freaking owl rather than his usual offering of blackbirds, robins or barn swallows which he would deposit always in the same place underneath the chesterfield.

you've got some skilled kitties there, or maybe just a lot of rabbits.. I think the biggest thing my cat dragged back was a good sized turtle dove, maybe a rat, it's bird season round here though so he's been excited

Anyway...
All cat lovers/owners know the joy of coming downstairs of a morning to find a pile of feathers in the kitchen & a contentedly belching cat, but one of our friends came down to a hallway filled with large irridescent red, blue & green feathers 
Where her cat managed to get a parrot from is anyone's guess, but given the size of her rather elderly cat at the time & the size of your average parrot, we can only imagine her cat came across a dead pet-escapee in the woods.
