All i can say about Maps & Atlases is that i have "Tree's, Swallows, Houses" & i find it to be amazing. Their latest release (i forgot the name of it) was a big regression imo, but big fans of indie rock would probably like it much more than their previous work.

I love both of them so very much. Oh man Maps & Atlases r00lz. Get both. The first one is supreme melodic math rock, the second is more quirky indie folk, but I think it's equally good. It's not a regression, but rather a change of pace. It's just as melodic, just as well-crafted and just as fun.

^ Yeah, i suppose i'm being too critical, they're a bad ass band worth supporting either way. I was just so excited for their second release and then bummed after hearing it; considering all they could have expanded on under the style of their first effort.

I was definitely not thrilled the first time I heard the title track (posted on their 'Space before the album dropped), but it was undeniably catchy, so I gave it a few more plays and I was hooked.

YES!!! *totally blows a load* (hypothetically of course) Haha, and Ian is away somewhere doing something actually significant; therefore missing out on all the fun! *edit* What a fool! I totally overlooked this while browsing a certain website earlier today *edit*

Damn, this Wavering Radiant has got me grappled into a creativity, variety; groove overload. It just gets better and better.... I don't even think i make out what tracks feature Adam Jones. (perhaps 20 Minutes/40 Years) Any guesses?

I thought it was Hand of the Host which is my favorite track so far. My god, what an amazing album though!

I'm starting to agree with you Jake, parts of Hand of the Host certainly feel Adam Jones-ish; even more than 20 Minutes/40 Years.
Anyways, between Wavering Radiant and Crack the Skye, i don't want to leave my house :D I've always liked Isis more, but i'm far from disappointed with Crack the Skye. (i'm loving the use of the keys on both albums)

Alrighty, I'm just sinking my teeth into Wavering Radiant right now. The title of the album fits the music so well it's almost scary. It actually sounds like wavering radiant, it's more than just an album title.

never liked much both (ISIS and MASTODON I mean), but their new stuff is good. In fact, I'm listening to 'Crack the Skye' right now ![](smileys/smiley2.gif) . Solid albums, well-composed/played/recorded, 3 stars without hesitation, maybe even more (I wonder if they'll grow on me that much later ![](smileys/smiley36.gif) )

It's still a bit early to tell, but i'm starting to like it just as much as Wavering Radiant. I'm pretty sure that i don't like Wavering Radiant as much as ITAoT already. Either way, beautiful stuff....

After a few listens I have to say Wavering Radiant is Isis' best release in ages.
