Is it always at the same theater?

Originally it was somewhere else, but it has been in Bethlehem for quite a few years now. (Which is nice, because it's just about the only good show to ever come to Bethlehem)

Yeah..  it is a shame those prices are so expensive.. and hard to get...  from what I read.. 60% of the tickets were gone before they were available to the 'public'.

In the grand scheme of things prog..that is a good thing I guess.  They make the bucks to continue lives as prog bands..and it shows again there is a market out there for good live prog.

the glass is always half full with me you know LOL

Yeah, people who've seen them have only had good things to say as far as I've heard. Even if I don't see them at NEARfest, I'll see them at least twice on Progressive Nation, but I'd really like to see them do an hour and a half set, that will pretty much mean seeing a majority of Part Two, which would be fantastic.

A one day ticket for Friday is not that bad @ $60. It's getting to be like Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo price wise. The down side is that you don't have as many bands as those festivals offer.

I went to NEARfest last year and it was fantastic, I had a great time. But that year I loved Fish, Liquid Tension Experiment, and really wanted to check out two of the other bands in the lineup, and I just ended up enjoying most of the rest.

This year ticket prices went up, and Beardfish is really the only band I love on there, and I'm not huge on VDGG at all, and so I can't justify seeing the festival again.

I learned from when Progressive Nation was announced a lot of people's responses were, "Who the hell is Beardfish?" So I'm hoping I can score something from one of those guys. :)

anyone that hasn't got tickets that wants to get them.... might want to get them now...\

the last row in the balcony is the closest available ticket...take that to mean they are close to selling out.

I posted this at the NEARfest forum, but since a bunch of you guys are going I'll post it here too.

Hi everyone, prior to tickets going on sale I'd like to get my message out. I'm willing to offer someone $30 just to let me use their Orchestra or Lift ticket during Beardfish's set.  With each day costing $70 ($140 for two days), I figure $30 for only one act of the four that day is a fair deal. I'd also offer $20 for a Grand Tier or Balcony seat.

I figure for those out there who don't have any specific interest in the band it would be a nice chance to get out and see the town, and get a bite for lunch, I would recommend JP MacGrady's down on third street.

If anyone is interested let me know, we can just exchange info and I'll pay in cash the day or the show.

Nick

I don't know a lot of the lesser known bands, but based on their bios they all seem up right my alley. See you all there! Thumbs Up

Other prog festivals:  Calprog in CA, Prog Day in NC, Prog Festival in Montreal (Sept) and the Three Rivers Prog in Pittsburg.  Rosfest was mentioned. And someone said that BajaProg was cancelled this year.  Don't know if thats true.

Don't know how much help I'd be for getting Nearfest tickets.  I had to do patron this year myself just to get a decent seat.  And since it was my first year doing patron.. I wasn't that low on the list either.  So our seats are E,4,5.  The same seats we had in 2007 for regular price, we now had to pay $630 for.  Shame really.

There is also RoSFest (Rights of Spring) just outside of Philadelphia, PA on May 1st-3rd. Bands include The Syn (Nardelli, Dunnery, Brislin, Kull, Ramsey, Jackson), John Lee's Barclay James Harvest, and Nektar. I'm there.
