Topic: 'Ello all you wonderful people! Posted: February 08 2009 at 15:10 |
My name is Simon, and I'm a 16-year old kid from Denmark. I found this site while looking for some nice streaming music to listen to while doing homework, found Koenjihyakkei and got instantly hooked (they're probably my favorite band at the moment).
My tastes in prog are probably going to make some people do spit-takes - I think most Pink Floyd is boring, and Genesis has never really appealed to me. Favorite genres are old-school prog (King Crimson), prog metal (Dream Theater and Between the Buried and Me) and ZEUHL (Magma, Koenjihyakkei, Korekyojin, Ruins and everything else Yoshida Tatsuya has done).
So, yeah. Hi people!

Welcome!
At a non-Prog forum (a sci-fi show board) I frequented with a small membership, the only band in the archives that I ever mentioned (and provided links to music) that got a really positive reaction from quite a few people (and everyone who responded was enthusiastic about it) was Koenjihyakkei (and other Tatsuya Yoshida projects). Strangely, I later found out that quite a few of them were really big on Can, and Robert Wyatt was quite popular with people there, though none of them considered themselves to be into Prog. Magma, on the other hand, garnered no positive reaction which surprised me.
Always great to have another Zeuhl-head on board. I only wish I knew the music when I was your age.

Welcome to PA, Bird. I'm surprised here are lots of young guys, including me. And thanks for your appreciation to Koenjihyakkei.

Hej Simon
Welcome to PA. Another Dane in the archives is always a welcome surprise. There are not many of us . PM me if you ever feel the need to speak a bit of Danish ( it“s not allowed in the open threads). I hope you“ll enjoy the site as much as I do.
