Yeah, Sikth were great.
In the meantime, why not try The Number 12 Looks Like You? Or Lye By Mistake? or Yog? |

Wow, I like Number 12 and Lye By Mistake were quite good although their jazziness threw me a bit at first |

I'm still sooooooooooooooooooo sad that they broke up. When I first heard them, I thought "WTF is wrong with the vocalist's voice?" And then like, 3 weeks later, I actually started really digging the vocals and now I listen to SikTh almost daily. |

I CAN and WILL say I LOVE THEM. although I think Kezia might be the prefered album for me. They show elements of early nineties progressive thrash artists such as Realm and Toxik (two favorites of mine- look them up as well- especially Toxik- album called "think this") Outstanding band! And they are still so young..... |

I think Protest the Hero is one of the best bands in the genre. Very melodic, yet very complex, with great lyrics and great art and the whole enchilada. The vocals threw me off at first, they don't sound like they belong with such great music, but I'm glad I gave them benefit of the doubt! I love both albums equally.
Also, I really don't think Sikth is that great. Their debut was pretty good, but it was often hard to take them seriously. I understand what they're going for, but their music failed to grab me beyond a surface appreciation. Again, I do like a fair amount of the material on their first album, but the one after that was pretty darn weak to me.
The Number Twelve Looks Like You is another band I can appreciate, but there's nothing for me to latch onto.

So how about Burst, everyone? I can't get enough of Origo and Lazarus Bird lately.

Yes, you ought to. I put Burst off for a while because their sound was a bit difficult for me to adjust to, I guess. They're pretty darn good, after all. |

Protest the Hero are very good, they are not of my favourite bands but they are quite good, especially Colours, it is very diferent from their other albums, much proggier , deathcore sound is almost abandoned, Sikth are just another prog/post hardcore and fail to impress me |

I can't believe I like the band, but they're so amazing. Kezia has to be one of the most epic things I've ever heard in my life. The whole absurd quality of their music just works so well. |

I think you may be confusing Protest the Hero and Between the Buried and Me |

Hehe, people around here should know what I think about Protest The Hero. After I got a hold of the album Fortress, it was rotation twice a day for 2 weeks on end I think. I love both their albums quite a lot, always so inspiring to listen to. I think the band has a serious future ahead of them, considering how accomplished they are as musicians and yet barely in their 20s. |

Is A Calculated Use of Sound worth checking out? I was a bit disappointed with Fortress, but there's not way I couldnt have been given the godly opinion I have of Kezia. |

That's currently how I feel about Cynic, actually.
It's clear to me that they are masterful, but for some reason, they haven't clicked with me yet. Must be another band that has to grow on me like PoS did.
