Well there's been tons of Deep Purple, Rainbow, Zeppelin, Rush and Sabbath ones, and a good bunch of Uriah Heep ones and some others which I'm forgetting....

Bands that really didn't make it, musically IMO(not all), yet they released 1 or 2 killer Hard Rock/Heavy albums which are essential for the Rock listener...

My fave of those is Whitesnake, as you may know. Ready an' Willing and Lovehunter are one of my all-time favourite records....

Close second would be Trapeze.(Yeah, I know, all DP-related, I'm a fanboy after allEmbarrassed)

"Johnny The Fox" and "Jailbreak"? Gotta hand it to the boys in Thin Lizzy, baby. Emerald is one killer tune.

I was gonna go on the bird path (Budgie), they are so rockin hard, but my heart belongs to that girl Thin Lizzy.  What a kick ass band.  Lynott's sweet bass and raps, twin leads of well...there were various dual guitarists in that group.  Well not that many, but still.  Not to mention the songs were catchy too.

I'll go for Trapeze.  They made some pretty good albums -- Medusa, You are the Music.

I wouldn't say Thin Lizzy are in any way 'second league'. I was so lucky as to witness their final show at the Reading Festival in 1983, and to say they smoked would be an understatement. As for Trapeze, I don't see them as 'just' a hard rock band (and Medusa is a marvellous album indeed). I also have a soft spot for Seventies Whitesnake (as opposed to the 'hair metal' band that most people are acquainted with), though I believe that on the whole Thin Lizzy's output was more consistently strong.

Great band Alan.

As much as I like the other bands a lot it has to be Lizzy by a country mile!
