Please check out my ELP tribute. It's only me and my machines at the moment but I'm twisting a few arms to join me. You'll get to hear the only cover of "Toccata" that I've ever heard.
Thanks,
Kerry

Thanks for being the first to reply. Hope you enjoy some of the other tunes.
BTW, I regularly play on one of Entwistle's basses. His ex ended up with it.

Thanks for checking out my stuff. If you didn't know, Toccata is basically bits and pieces of the fourth movement of Ginastera's piano concerto. I learned the rest of ELP's stuff by ear, but I quickly gave up on the atonal Toccata until I got the two piano score of the original concerto. That was thirty three years ago. I finally put it together just recently. It's easily the most outrageous thing that ELP ever released, which is one of the reasons I like it so much. I've searched youtube and google for "ELP Toccata" and haven't found another cover. As another guy pointed out, it requires a unique case of OCD to cover such a tune.

Anxious to check out the album. I'm on the road on a borrowed computer so I'll get to it later. Seems like I heard two Japanese chicks doing Tarkus on two pianos recently? Very cool. Thanks for checking out my stuff.

Hmm, which to buy? I'm curious about Toccata because ELP used so little of the actual concerto. If a cover doesn't sound pretty close to ELP then it's really not an ELP cover but rather another Ginastera cover. I suppose if they maintain much of the ELP structure, including the synth/guitar duet, you could call it an ELP cover. I always assumed Keith wrote that duet, but then I've never scoured the entire original score looking for it. One thing I noticed right off was that the three piano chords right before the duet are the opening chords of the concerto.
Anyway, it's music: If someone likes it, it's good.

Hi,
I play for the UK ELP tribute 'NODDYS PUNCTURE'.
I have been incorporating the percussion section of ELP's 'Tocatta' into the drum solo, including certain keyboard lines too:
Enjoy!
Cheers,
Steve

Wow. Real neat, got a big ole kick outta hearing "Thick as a Brick" (a big duh) and "Karn Evil 9;" the latter explaining a lot of how Keith woulda done it on stage.

Of course to REALLY be authentic I'd have to have keyboards opposite each other. It's slightly easier to play the stuff without having to whirl around. I used to do the two stacks but it takes up too much room in my studio.
Thanks for checking it out.
