Systematic Chaos is nothing at all like Octavarium. It's heavy and very
"brutal" and by that I mean very Metalish. Go onto YouTube and look up
"Constant Motion" and you'll know what I mean. The album does contain
the highly melodic "Ministry Of Lost Souls" which is (IM-freaking-O)
the best thing the band ever did, but I think you may find the album
too heavy for your taste

That's what I needed! Option 3 crossed-out Then it's Awake or Images or ...? Scenes? Six Degrees?
Have in mind I do not enjoy the songs from Octavarium(exception s/t). In few days or minutes I may like one of those 7, but not sure if I'll love em' as the s/t song.
I still stand hard by Six Degrees, although it's the most experimental
and the first disc is only okay. I think that the title track would
really appeal to you. Scenes is a very good one, but I've never thought
of it as their best. Awake has always been the masterpiece in my
opinion, but I&W seems to be what most people go for.

Maybe because Images is the REAL masterpiece, and not Awake

Incredible rock album. Up there with Ten, and overpassing VS. Binaural would be at the height of VS.

Once again:

Listening to Panic Attack, the previous 4 while nothing incredible, but still they're nice and enjoyable tunes, while this one is too metalish and quite annoying overall, though the guitar solo is getting appealing now at 5' 54''

Ah that's okay. Same here, except minus the animals and I only have a girlfriend, not a wife.
