Holy smokes! The new Sam Jackson Five's album is even more beautiful than i was hoping it would be. I don't think i like it more than "Easily Misunderstood", but i still highly recommend it.

I've only seen them mentioned a couple times, but I'd say Giant Squid is my favourite in this genre
other than that I really like The Ocean
and they might be classified under tech/extreme, but I think a lot of Wolves in the Throne Room has a good post-metal sound to it

You did catch on the Ministry of Souls thread that Giant Squid is only releasing 1,000 copies of their new album and it's available for pre-order?

Well it's kind of like get in and get out kind of dealing, if they can show the record company they can garner 1,000 pre-order than they get something, like a tour, better deal, etc...  I'm assuming.

Well according to their myspace their unsigned. I'm listening to the new song in their myspace.

Edit: Just finished listening and the song doesn't impress at all. Maybe I'll wait to listen to album in its entirety to see if its good. Smile

In that case it's they can only afford to print 1,000 copies and hopefully sell them :)
