Someone at a Dutch bass guitar forum has one (5-string) and he's quite positive about it. Also heard some pretty nice sounding samples played on it.

I think I saw one of those in a local music store recently (looked identical at least) for about the same price. It definitely looks better in person, I just wish I had a go on it.

Pah! All this fuss about a six string bass guitar; Angelo, you should be ashamed - if I'm not mistaken, you have one Mr Pastorius as an avatar...4 strings was enough for him!

This is what a bass guitar should look like:

Sounds disgusting? Well, if you like aniseed the combination is superb. Only a few drops per serving, though, as it tends to overpower the other ingredients.

Hmmm - a combination of the most disgusting vegetable ever created, with the foulest use of alcohol in the known world, eh?

Jeez, m'man - you are one sick puppy! Beetroot, blue cheese & salad cream sandwiches? Balsamic vinegar blended with beetroot? Over chips?

Not to be too basic here, but I'd hate to clean your khazi

Fraid not - I just Googled for the image (I have to make do with a 1971 Hammond L122 & Leslie 145 )

I see, well then I have no reservations in saying beets and soft cheeses are fantastic together (though I'll pass on the Pernod)

Personally I think Pernod tastes as if someone's passed in it...

Jim, 4 strings is enough for a lot of things indeed. I split my bid between the 6-string and it's 4-string brother. The 6-string would solve a 'low B' issue I run into with a few songs, a 5-string would do as well, but there wasn't on offer right now.

B.t.w. - if I had to blindly follow Jaco, I would have to get rid of my built-in pre-amp and frets as well Confused

Beetroot rocks!

It's yummy, and totally good for you! Try a few spoons of beetroot puree and horesradsh in Mashed tattes, yes it's pink, but it tastes great with a pile of bangers!

I have discovered fairly recently that all the veges I detest (beetroot, cauliflower, sprouts) are actually quite palatable when eaten raw, but that's probably a throw-back to school dinners where all veges where boiled for three days until all colour, flavour and goodness was rendered out of them and those three were the only ones robust enough to survive the process.

Blue cheese on the other hand is mouldy and smells that way for a reason, the same reason that the black slime from the bottom of a pond smells the way it does - to stop you eating it. I'd no more eat that than I would drink milk that has 'turned' by some bacteriological infestation... even if it is flavoured with banananas and Bifidus Digestivum/Regularis/Actiregularis or Lactobacillus casei Shirota (yum!) which have been scientifically proven to be effective in all gullible consumers.
What?

I love the people who go to the salad bar and really pile the bowls up. I think the best technique is to arrange cucumber slices round the edge of the bowl, then you can stack it really high.

I was in a queue in a chippy once, standing behind a somewhat portly gentleman who ordered 'Large cod, double chips, mushy peas, a battered saveloy, double bread and butter, a pickled egg to have while I'm waiting and a diet coke'. Maybe he just likes the taste...

It's good to know I'm not alone. I'll eat almost anything, but I can only agree with Alan's wise judgement - Beetroot = DeadDeadDeadDead. Pernod's pretty disgusting as well, although as I've been on the wagon for some years now it doesn't really matter to me.

Blue cheese is pretty good, though - it's a must for the post Xmas dinner cheeseboard.

I'm afraid to say, I like beetroot and blue cheese...

Several rounds of buttered, thick, crusty, freshly baked bread, with some chunks of Stilton and slices of *unpickled* beetroot....marvellous....Approve

Pernod on the other hand.....Dead

I really don't like pickled beetroot.Unpickled beetroot is a totally different 'beast'.Pickled beetroot gives me heartburn like you wouldn't believe.

I like my unpickled beetroot on warm crusty bread with a thick slice of mature cheddar.

I hate Pernod but do enjoy the odd Ricard and water.
