I'll knock up some Shrewsbury sauce to go with the lamb chops. Delicious!
Try halving the Brussels sprouts, steam for about 4 minutes and then stir fry with some chestnuts.
Pluse some nice mashed potato...
Now what about desert?

Not including Digital, we have 5 channels now. However, nobody can find this mysterious 5th channel, although it's said to exist. ![]() |

how long since you were in England, David..?
since you were here we have had the gas lighting replaced by electric lighting, hundreds of pubs closed for development, or turned into "Gastro-pubs"

actually I remember BBC 1, 2, and Thames (maybe it was ITV)... there was a 'new' Saint (not Moore) and it featured Catherine Schell, ooh baby

Thames TV was the London & regional channel. It became LWT (London Weekend Television) at er...weekends. The Return of The Saint starred Ian Ogilvie in the titular role. One episode mimicked the Zefferelli/David Hemmings film,Blow-Up. It featured a chase through The Marquee Club in Wardour Street. In Blow-Up,Hemmings ran through The Marquee (then in Oxford Street) and the band on stage was the Yardbirds.Jeff Beck was violently dismantling his guitar. The band on stage during the scene in the 1970s version of The Saint....You guessed it;The Australian punk band,The Saints. Edited by Man Erg - September 19 2008 at 05:12 |

wasn't Roger Moore in the Saint at one time? also, apparently, Ian Fleming claimed Moore was his favourite Bond actor, he fitted the suave persona Fleming had envisaged. My favourite was of course Sean Connery, he washh the beshhht Bond !

Moore was the original TV Saint I thought.. yes apparantly Flemming wanted Moore as Bond but then grew to really like Connery's take on the character ..and let's face it, in the books Bond is no 'saint'

Roger Moore was the in the original 'Saint',Steve. Ian Ogilvie was in The Return of The Saint (a bit like The New Avengers)which ran from the late 1970s until the early 1980s I too prefer Sean 'Coronary' as 007 except for the awful 1980s, Lew Grade produced Bond film, the title of which has been scoured from my memory. If anyone reminds me of it I'll not be responsible for my actions... ![]() BTW. Roger Moore drove a white Volvo whereas Ogilvy drove a Jag. Edited by Man Erg - September 19 2008 at 05:17 |
