well, to be categorised as a proper 'pudding', the dish has to adhere to a number of criteria...it has to be hot, sweet & filling...usually sponge or pie based, and involve custard..
...of course poncy southerners like James will have you believe that you can use cream or ice cream and still call it a pudding, but for us, that's a 'dessert' and should be kept strictly south of the Thames...
I think we may need to get the prog pudding team into voting for clearance on this one... |
hmm, so it's all very regional, I seeeee ..love those English sponges, Jamie 'Pretty Boy' Oliver did a chocolate sponge I've been wanting to do ...and here for a custard eggs must be involved

I think you mean porridge is gruelling...
and the ruination of otherwise, perfectly good oats...

Dead on. Beans, perhaps? I'm making efforts to start calling my midday meal lunch again. It's hard.

where are the mushrooms??....
seriously, I'm vegetarian, and although a full veggie fry is most welcome as an occasional treat, you simply couldn't eat it on a regular basis...

That's how I am. I have insane metabolism or something. I eat like its going out of style, but I stay thin always.
For like three years I've been 5'10" and weighed only around 135 lbs.
...Maybe I have worms!

ah the fry-up, I think I've seen that.. the eggs, bangers and tomatoes cooked together in one pan then shoved on a huge plate with beans and big ticks of toast (done on one side, of course) .. I must try a trad. English breakfast next time I'm there, I'm thinking it'll keep me full for the duration of the trip

^^^well, if you're ever over in rural Herefordshire, David...I'm sure I can introduce you to a very fine example, involving half a pig and several dozen hens...
