 Yeah, it's a really cool city. There's so much to see and do there!
Dining out and drinking tasty pints (with live blues yet -- no cover!) there is much cheaper than in Canada, too. With our dollars almost at par, it's a great holiday destination for Canadians!

I'd still love to visit Canada someday - my parents have been to Montreal and Quebec City and raved about it, I'd like to visit there as well as Toronto.

I have horrid memories of shandy...
A few years back, a bunch of us (Heavyfreight included) descended on a friend's house to help with garden clearance for a weekend. Being a warm late summer's weekend (remember those?  ), we were very thirsty & had to go to the pub - especially as it sold a very nice drop of dark mild.
As the orders were being taken, it went round... "mild", "mild", "mild", "mild", "mild", "mild" (etc), so in a fit of misplaced irony I piped up "a lager shandy please" - the bugger bought me one & refused to buy me a pint of mild until I drank it.
Friends eh? Who's got 'em?
BTW Rach - what are you doing on line at 3:36 in the morning?? Nick snoring again?

when I say I work hard, I mean it, once the music is finished, there is a lot of work to do with production of "product" ...............we've pulled more all-nighters in the last month than we have in the last 3 years.......... popping into the shed at 3.30am does the same as the kit-kat at 4.30am and the constant coffee...........
One day when this nighmare is over, and I can laugh about it, I'll tell you all the story, but right now I just need more coffee!
I grabbed a couple of hours but we've both been desk bound since about 6am, and I have a feeling it'll be a long day!

Once, after a heavy work-out down the gym (yeah, it happened once, not so long ago unfortunately, now I have to establish a base-camp before walking upstairs  ), I really needed a long cold refreshing drink so went to the bar and ordered a Gingerbeer Shandy - they served me gingerbeer & lemonade instead of gingerbeer & beer... with the endorphines from the workout kicking in and the sugar-rush from the drink I could have flown home.

It takes a bit more effort, but works a treat, and the price of the fuel for it (about $20/dozen) is very reasonable too!
it's great if (like us) you only have a relatively small lawn.

I'm too American (fat & lazy  ) to use one of those. Gas mower for me. Though I do have an electric trimmer and an electric leaf-blower.

I love manual mowers. What I love about them is the sound of the blades whiring around...they are bloody hard work though.Peter Gabriel had an invisible version (Qualcast/Spear & Jackson?) doncha know?
