You'd think that with all the money he's earned over the years he'd be able to pay for a NASCAR drive himself. Wink

A friend of mine told me, and I have no idea where he got this, but supposedly Kyle Busch wants to do F1 when his contract is up in 7 years, (2015). He will be 30 by that point, a little old to start F1 esp for someone with no open wheel experience at all....LOL

And don't get me wrong, I want an American in F1....but not Kyle Busch.....
Hopefully Graham Rahal or something

Yes but that is where we disagree, we all want Kyle Busch to go anywhere but NASCAR for another 7 years!LOL

Rahal and Marco Andretti would probably be the best bets for an American in F1.

As for Jacques, he really should hang up his helmet, not very good at NASCAR and Peugeot's slowest driver at Le Mans.

That's what I'm hoping for!
And yea....quite a sight. The former Formula One Champion sucking it up in...well anything he's racing in.

Yup, Hamilton grabs pole.
Pretty typical top 10, though Jarno Truli did make 4th spot.

Having seen Hamilton's lap in full I reckon that he could have gone faster than he did.

I suspect that was a glory grabbing lap from Trulli but he may just be really quick, we'll find out tomorrow.

I reckon Hamilton will get the win tomorrow, he seems to have something over Massa, though not much.

Sutil's 4 wheel drifting was exciting, if not exactly fast.

Hopefully next year with the reduced downforce we'll see more 4 wheel drifts, sure they're not the fastest way of getting around a corner but they are great to watch.

Big accident for Glock, thankfully he seems to be allright. I tell you what, Hamilton drove an absolute barn stormer after the saftey car to win today, impressive. Piquet was just as impressive and after his start to the season I never would have thought I'd be saying that! Not impressed with Massa, he just let Hamilton through without much of a fight. Unless Ferrari sort themselves out, I can see Hamilton walking of with this title from now on.

Yeah Hamilton really recovered well after that safety car, I can't see Piquet lasting long at Renault, Alonso doesn't like to be beaten by rookies after all. Wink

Ferrari have been very disappointing in the last two races both tactically and on the track. In many ways this weekend was worse for Ferrari than Silverstone was as Raikkonen was clearly struggling to keep the car on the track at times and Massa seemed to give up after the safety car.

Decent race, and again the points are shaken up. Great to see Massa up to into 2nd place.

And I think Hamilton has spoiled us, now every rookie that dosn't challenge for the title is a dissapointment LOL

Anyway, huge congrats to Piquet on that 2nd place finish. Also one for Sebastian Vettel who also seems to be improving
And hopefully Glock is OK. That was quite a hit, and to the back is always awful. Good thing he hit at a fairly shallow angle.

We all remember the 2005 USGP fiasco....
Apparently Indy and tire issues have struck again.

I'll admit I didn't watch the Brickyard 400 but I was told by a few people that due to excessive tire wear NASCAR flew a competition caution (a yellow flag for safety reasons so everyone can pit) like every 15-20 laps!??!
So, basically the whole race was nothing but stops, with some laps of "racing" in between

Wacko

I don't get it...all I can guess is it involves the new car NASCAR has introduced. I know it's heavier, and is a lot tougher to control (thus more squirrely) but I don't see how that can affect tires so badly they could not go longer than 13 laps?

Where is Zappa???? He'll probably know all this better

Sorry man, I was at soccer camp!
The tires problems...SUCKED.

The whole big combo of the new/heavier/higher CG car, the lack ot a mandated test session at the track before the weekend, and Goodyear trying to bring a more competitive tire and getting way in over thier heads just created a big mess. Like ya said, 12 laps and then a yellow so tires could be changed, it was one of ther worst races in NASCAR history.

One small update Bourdais has been put back to 19th on the grid for blocking Heidfeld during quali one, although he in turn was being blocked by someone else so it's really an unfair punishment.
