Is it really? I'm so jealous of MrProg2112 now. If only they were playing at Lakeside Park!

Tony R mentioned this in the collaborator zone, but this is something all of us Rush fans can appreciate.

Rush is performing live tonight on The Colbert Report on the Comedy Channel at 11:30 EST/PST.  According to the website, this is the 1st time that Rush has performed live on US TV in 30 years.

I wish I had a DVR. 11:30PM is late for this guy. I may have to watch it YouTube tomorrow.

I`m not really a Rush fan but there`s this bootleg kicking around with Jeff Berlin ( on bass ) jamming with Rush with Geddy on keyboards. It`s actually quite interesting hearing Rush as a quartet with a bit of a different sound.

It's also funny because Tom Sawyer is a very short song in Rush's repertoire and he made it seem the length of 2112 or something. Oh yeah, "have you ever played a song so long that at the end you were influenced by yourselves at the beginning of the song?"

"Either that or a drum factory exploded in my studio"

It was nice to see Neil actually talking for once! Although I was sad that Alex really didn't say anything. But other than the Rush In Rio dvd I haven't really seen Neil make appearances since the early 90s... but I do stand to be corrected on that one

That was probably the greatest thing that has happened to television in a long time.

It was.  Absolutely loved it.  I nearly fell off my couch when Colbert started reading the By-Tor lyrics.
