So I was listening to Fantomas cover of Ave Satani and it occurred to me that there might be more prog out there with Latin lyrics.  I figure the dynamics of the language would go particularly well with metal, but I guess I'll try any suggestions you guys might have.  My ears are open.

Yep, Deus Ex Machina fits the bill perfectly.   De Republica is their best, imho.  Amazing band, as you say.

Devil Doll also incorporate Latin and metal into their music.  Sacrilegium is my favourite, followed by The Girl Who Was Death,  but you can't go wrong with any of their albums.  Another exceptional band.

Ougenweide use Latin lyrics for some songs, like "Totus Floreo", which is an adaptation of "Tempus Est Iocundum" from the Carmina Burana

The Austrian band Vita Nova's one self-titled album from 1971 is sung entirely in Latin.

Since I come from the country of origin of the Latin language, I can't help recommending another (admittedly rather peculiar) Italian band, Jacula, whose lyrics are entirely in Latin.

Ok, so I could add a tag "Latin" ... but wait, that could be confused with "Latin-American". Oh what the heck, I added both. Say hello to genres like "Latin Prog Rock" or "Latin-American Prog Rock" ... Smile

Ibis, a spin-off band of the New Trolls led by Nico Di Palo, used Latin in the opening section of "Narratio" (from their eponymous 1975 album). The overall effect is nice, even if I cannot understand latin.

Quite a few prog metal bands use latin lyrics - particularly the Symphonic Metal influenced bunch. Kamelot, Epica, Rhapsody ... even Symphony X.
