Time for the virtual collection. Once we get holographic jewel cases that hover while you listen, even better. Not far off!! |
I do fear that the holographic jewel cases will be even easier to break accidentally than the current plastic ones. Speaking as someone who started collecting in the LP age and is thrilled with my latest digital music player, I can't wait to see where the mediums for music will go in the future...

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Seriousely, though . . . I absolutely cherish my phyiscial albums that I own for the features mentioned above, but when it comes to listening to an album in the car, I hardly think the sound quality is going to matter, due to the road noise and all. This has led me to consider putting all of my music on a zune and just taking that into the car with me and plugging it into the sterio. It's better than hauling around all of my prog albums in a CD wallet, which I soon will be unable to do due to the sheer number of prog albums I now own.
What do you guys think? Would a zune or ipod or otherwise well-made mp3 storage device/player be a good investment? I only ask because I've never owned one before and don't know whether all the hype is to be believed or not.

Oh, and to go back on-topic: I might be able to pick up the shelf I've been wanting next weekend, so stay tuned for the first collection pic fro me. It's going to look pitiful simply because of the size of the shelving itself, but oh well, one must start somewhere, no?

Here's a week-old picture of this school year's acquisitions. The rest of my collection is back in hometown.

About 30-35 i think. I've never counted them.
I don't buy on a regular basis, but when i buy, i never buy less than 4. Used LP's can be as low as about $1

The CD is Tanz Der Lemminge
The LP looks like one of DMST's albums, but I can't remember it's title!
