Revved up like a deuce>>>>   Duece is nickname for a hotrod. revving it up refers to gunning the engine.

Wrapped up like a douche>>>> a douche is a vaginal wash.

It may be of interest to know that on the jacket of The Roaring Silence is printed the lyrics and they are printed as "wrapped up like a deuce another runner in the night"  and I firmly belive that is how manfred mann sings it.

Also I seem to remember Springsteen stating that the line is supposed to be "revved up like a deuce in the middle of the night" and for whatever reason MM changed it or got it wrong.

I have two additions for a previously stated lyric:

"Dirty Deeds and they're done dirt cheep"

I heard  "Dirty Dean and the thunder Jeep" Thinking  it was a song about an anti-hero and his cool vehicle

My friends younger brother heard: "dirty jeans and they're dungarees" He had a pair of dungaree brand jeans and would not let his mom wash them. funny kid.

Also there is a bunch of these things on youtube... have ya seen any of them? funny funny misheard lyrics.

Dream Theater: Caaaaught in aaaaa WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALE!!!!!!!

Not sure what song that is, but I heard it on a YouTube video. And there's always:

System of a Down: Lyrical straw-things

Supposed to be "Spirit moves through all things" from the song "Science" I believe. Too bad I sold my Toxicity album because now I want to hear just that part...

For those who speak French...

When I was around 5, I would frequently sing along the Beatles' "Here comes the song". Instead of "here comes the sun" though, my version of the chorus went "L'école, ça sonne". Smile

Also, more recently, my cousin and I were arguing over the actual lyrics of Harmonium's "En pleine face". At some point through the song, she hears

"Comme une vieille dame qui n'a plus de charme, je viens vers toi"

but I'm pretty sure it's

"Comme une vielle dame qui n'a plus de change, je viens vers toi" Tongue

In Rush 2112 near the end of the song after the Oracle part it is "I heave a sigh and sadly smile" while I always heard " I hear a cyan smile"

in the "Full Circle" part of DT's Octavarium, LaBrie sings "Jack the Ripper Owens Wilson Phillips and my Supper's Ready",
but I always hear it as "Jack the Ripper Owens will soon feel upset, my supper's ready" Tongue
The scattered jigsaw of my redemption laid out before my eyes
Each piece as amorphous as the other - Each piece in its lack of shape a lie

Bump:

I have 2 from Rush; one mine and one my friends.

When hearing Roll the Bones, my friend thought it was Row the Boats.

When hearing Secret Touch, I Heard "A Secret Hand, A Gentle Touch of A Whore" instead of "A Gentle Touch of the Heart".

"Hold my umbrella
And give me some jam..."

(Jam is jelly in the U.S. - I presume they know what umbrellas are!)

My friend thought the lyrics to Black Betty by Ram Jam were "Woah Black Betty's bramble jam" and, instead of "Let me get my hands on your mammary glands" in The Smiths' Handsome Devil, he thought it was "Let me get my hands on your marmalade, gran!"

I thought Marilyn Manson's "It's time for cake and sodomy" was "It's chunky chips and salad cream"
Would you like to watch TV, or get between the sheets, or contemplate the silent freeway, would you like something to eat?

1. Genuinely misheard coming from our car's cassette player at the end of the 80's, It Bites' tune title line: A kiss like Judas, being hear and then always subsequently sung by the family as A fish like tuna!!
2. Genuine corruption. Ella Fitzgerald  (probaly well into her dotage), doing an album of rock and soul covers in the late 60's, including the Cream's Sunshine of your love. Because of a then lyric misprint in the American sheetmusic, the jazz diva sings I'll be with you until my seeds run dry (originally: seas not seeds!) but giving the tune an unintentional  gyneological spin.

Im suprised no one has mentioned pearl jam yet. they are the undisputed KINGS of misheard lyrics.

"Yellow Ledbetter"
on a ceiling, on a  voice of let her saaaay
and i said i wanna leave it again
under the hill, on a piece of weather, say!
i wanna say, i wanna leave it again.

i honestly have no idea what Eddie Vedder is EVER singing. they made entire spoofs of their songs on shows like SNL that sounded like a slightly more coherant version of the exact same song with lyrics about aliens or underwater vegitables, anything. Vedder is such a mumbler, it makes it fun to listen to, kind like putting together a puzzle you could turn into anything you wanted.

Zeppelin has a ton of misheard lyrics too.

imigrant song.

"Always sleeping, catching up, i wanna go where theres a rest and shout!!!
ahhhhhhhAHHHHHHAhoooooooooAAAHHH!!!!"
