He must haver been really good, if

- as a defender he won the title of Best SouthAmerican Player for three years in a row
- he never played in Europe
- he played about 15 years earlier than I would have expected (I thought he might have been of the Coppa del Mondo players)

... and still I knew his name very well!

Greece has typically won the group... 5-0 over Malta (easy as expected)

many congrats to Poland Clap
Did Michal Zewlakow play in this match?

one of the best players in my team (Olympiakos)
we are also trying to sign Krzynowek (if I spell this correctly...)

And if you check he replaced Pelé and was replaced by Zico as Best SA player.

Also this issue to play in Europe to be known rich famous good is a recent trend, after FIFA became dominated by Europeans (agents, money, etc) and started to think that UEFA is a kind of football's NBA. Confused

Thank you aapatsos. Congrats to Greece to.

Yes, Michal Zewlakow did play yesterday game. Olympiakos is trying to sign Krzynowek (you spell, or rather write this correctly) you say? I didn't know that. He is very good player.

^ yes, I heard he is one of the best in  the Polish team.
Not sure if the rumours are true, but where is smoke, there is a fire
Have seen some videos of him and he has a deadly left foot...
Reminds me a bit of Norway's Riise
He is supposed to be Predrag Djordjevic's future replacement, if we sign him...
He is also doing rather well in Wolfsburg as I have heard
well...

The most important is that he is doing very well in the national team with his lethal weapon (left foot)

Yeah... he's still alive & kickin'. A great player indeed, but now not even a shadow of what he was in the 90's Cry

Btw, congrats to Argentina: 3 - 0 today against Bolivia.
The best you can is good enough...

^ Just talkin' about Marcelo Salas and he has scored twice today against Uruguay in a struggled 2 - 2.  Smile  A historic result, considering Chile has never got a tie with Uruguay in Montevideo since...... hmmm..... the eighties if I'm not mistaken.

Waiting for the Brazil match against Peru now....

Marvelous to think that he's way past his peak, yet he bagged those two goals.

for the EURO 2008 the teams will be listed in four groups by ranking
ahead of each group will be

Greece (2004 Euro champion)
Austria (host)
Switzerland (host)
Holland (highest ranking from the rest)

rest goes like this:

group B:
Croatia, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic

group C:
England*, Portugal, Sweden, Poland

group D:
Romania, France, Spain, Turkey*

England and Turkey are likely to qualify, marked with *
teams are listed as they are now in the rankings of UEFA
notice that France and Spain are in the weakest Group
expect a hell of a Euro...

Possible death group for today:

1. Holland
2. Germany or Italy
3. England
4. France

That's a "hell yeah" death group

If I put Poland instead England on 3rd position, it became a death group for my team. Or maybe not

Portugal or Spain would not be an easy job either.

Agree. But IMHO Portugal is, at this moment, a little bit weaker than England (We won 4 points on them). But all teams will be prepaired to show their best on the tournament.

Damn! I won't miss this Eurocup; Greece can easily be a protagonist again.

^ I don't think that we will easily be protagonists, it's hard to repeat the triumph
