Love both Regarding Henry and Shawshank (probably my favorite of all time). Another movie along the same lines as Henry is The Doctor with William Hurt. Not as good as Regarding Henry, but still a good movie.

I like William Hurt, so I'll have to check it out. Another movie I'd recommend is Dark City. It has William Hurt also, as well as Jennifer Connolly *yummy!*, Rufus Sewell and Kiefer Sutherland.

I think Knowck Up just came out on DvD.  I thought it was fantastic, sort of a fusion of romantic comedy and stoner comedy.

300...is worth checking out, if just for the fancy effects. Not a terribly moving film for me (a little too much testosterone for me, LOL)...but great film score.

Serenity- One of the greatest sci-fi films of all time. Joss Whedon's tragically short show Firefly becomes one of the precious few shows to produce a film worth watching. Both are so superbly made that it's impossible to pick which one is better, but in the end we all win.

Das Leben Der Anderen >> This German movie is opne of the most human I've see in years. It's about the Eastern Germany life in the 80's and the Stasi secret police. Even if the subject does not push you to see it, this is an awesome movie >> easily the movie if the year for me? It's been running for five months in Brussels.

Those who mention Shawshank redemption, won't be disappointed with this one!!!!!!

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Now that Planet Terror is out- Grindhouse. When I watch a movie, I do it with reserve. I don't shout joyously when something cool happens, gasp in suspense, scream in horror; heck, I don't even laugh out loud. However, when I sat down with Grindhouse, something took hold of me. I groaned throughout Planet Terror as Rodriguez threw as much sickening gore as he could, and whooped whenever something blew up or someone got taken down. In Death Proof, I laughed uproariously at the dialogue and couldn't stop cheering at the end. Very few movies have this effect on me (Sin City is the only one that comes to mind). If you don't have the DVDs go to the nearest store as soon as possible and pick up Planet Terror and Death Proof. Most exhilarating film experience I've ever had.

^ Except they're separated into individual DVDs if I'm not mistaken, which is really annoying! Angry  Great movies though!

Yes, they are separated, but you get extended versions of both. The downside? The only trailer you get is Machete. The good news? The full theatrical version (or both the extended, I'm not sure) is slated to be released with a full length version of Machete sometime in 2008. Don't wait for that release though, cause these are extended versions and God if a film was ever worth double dipping for, it'd be this one.
