My jazz audition is coming up and i'm in competition w/ my best friend for the guitar spot. The teacher's probably going to pick him since he's been in it for two years prior. We're gonna try to convince her to open a second guitar slot, but we need something to convince her. She doesn't believe in multiple guitarists in jazz, so does anybody know of any jazz bands that have two guitarists??? Help!!!

try 'Twin House' by Larry Corryell and Phillippe Catherine
(not a band  so, but a guitar duo, great record!!)

BTW
Larry Coryell recorded also a (band) record with John Mc Laughlin :
'Spaces'

Check out John McLaughlin's album The Promise, e.g. duo with Jeff Beck.
Abercrombie/Scofield's album Solar
John McLaughlin/Carlos Santana,  a couple of times (e.g Santana's Welcome, Love Devotion, Surrender).
Wayne Krantz/ Leni Stern: Separate Cages

For all of Holdsworth's (probably correct) suggestion that the two guitarists in a duo turn to inhibit each other, he's done a lot of it e.g.
Tempest's double CD set Ollie Halsal and Allan Holdsworth on the live recordings, Under The Blossom.
Holdsworth/Gambale (as the MVP): Truth In The Shredding
With Joe Satriani on the title track Radio Free Albumuth (Stu Hamm's album)
With Jeff Watson on Watson's Lone Ranger
With Carl Verhayen on CV's No Borders
And of course boots, e.g. Eddie Van Halen & Allan Holdsworth

etc.
