Amon Duul (July 13th done.). I used the Live in London reissue cover, but I kept a copy of the other one in case someone needs it.

Hey guys, what's the general rule here?  Is it a free-for-all?

If so, I'll choose a random artist who has big covers and find some new ones and re-size them.

Kapiche?

Edit: actually, is it fine for me to continue on with Soft Machine, like I have already started?

Guys,

What cover do you want me to use for http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=3271  ?

This album has been named three times, so I suspect the covers to be all different.

There's this one:

and this one:

Plus some others too, I suspect.

Another one:

Soft Machine: Personally, I'd prefer the one from the first release, but I don't make the rules.

Rules: go ahead with Soft Machine - let us know if you move on. Right now I'm just getting rid of the backlog since July 10th. 3 more covers to go...

Badger, DragonFly and Split Enz done. Cheers again to T-Rox.

Backlog gone - except for the three Robert Wyatt albums mentioned above.

No "rules" here -- anyone who finds a better cover of an album or a picture of a band than those already existing, or who finds a picture when there is no picture at all at a band's page posts it here.

As for the different album covers for one album -- as far as I am concerned the earliest cover released at the band's country should be put. The only problem is how do you know which one was actually the earliest...

In this particular case, I would rather use a Jet-Propelled Photographs cover, for many reasons:

1. it's the most well known name of this compilation of tracks
2. there's more images available for it (and a few larger ones too)
3. The Face and Place Vol. 7 image I've found is the same as the one uploaded already and is too small

Any thoughts on this?

some months ago I went through the SOFT MACHINE discog with the help of Assaf and we made a lot of changes. So we merged three albums to the existing.
I'm quite sure "Face and place Vol. 7" was the first release title and the cover art is corresponding. So depending on our policy this is actually the correct presentation,
but with the restriction that the cover pic has not 200x200px.

So I would prefer to make a new search for a better pic. Otherwise  - if we use the propelled pic we also have to change the album title ...

That is true, but I have yet to find a 200 x 200 size image for "Face & Place Vol. 7".  I'll keep looking though.

By the way, I have now converted all album covers to 200 x 200 pixels, except for "Face & Place Vol. 7".

Edit: right, I've found a bigger version, I'll resize and upload. Thumbs%20Up

Just completed Robert Wyatt, with the following notes:

I used a different cover for Peel Sessions. The one posted by T.Rox contained the track titles in a different order, and had the notion 'special edition' on the front. Multiple covers for this (and some other Wyatt albums) exist, feel free to replace with the earlier mentioned 'first versions'.

For Work In Progress I used the cover I proposed yesterday (resized to 200x200)

I found a cover for Short Break, also 200x200

I found a slightly better pic for The Animals film, included that at 200x200

The Animals Film - not too great so skipped for now, as suggested by T-Rox.
Work in progress - would the picture below be a better version to resize to 200x200?
Peel Session - Cover being checked for correctness, in relation to T-Rox comment.
A short Break - Cover was for Shleep, so Short Break still needs an update

Alternative for Work in Progress could be this one:

Where did that WIP picture come from? ... I will resize!

"Whoops" on the Short Break & Shleep ... I must have been going ga-ga from posting truck loads of covers! LOL

The  correct A Short Break cover...

The resized Work In Progress...

I think this is one of the pics I overlooked because it was not quite a square shot of the cover, but its clarity is so much better that it being a little skewed is not really an issue.

Cheers once again,

Cheers anyway T.Rox - the exitement of becoming a collaborator made me rush off in similar manner, that's why the backlog was gone so fast. I've calmed down now... Wink

Here's a proper 200x200 pixels cover of Selling England By The Pound. The one in use now is much smaller and the way it's displayed on the home page as "most popular album of the week" is disgraceful.

Yes, it's a lot better Thumbs%20Up

The old one was forced to expand so one could even count the pixels it was made of.
