All I can say is that we had Perfect Day playing when we exchanged wedding rings.

I'm guessing he was more of a jerk in the old days, he seems not so bad nowadays.

I love theVelvet Underground, but less so after John Cale left, and I'm even less fond of Reed's solo work. Also, from what I understand he is a complete jerk.

in that case, woould you mind telling me what you think of his "The Raven"? I'm wondering because i am a big fan of the Velvet Underground, but that was the first Lou Reed solo i tried and... well. I am not a fan of Edgar Allan Poe, but i wasn't very impressed by it, really.

Yep, there is something in him, both savage and tender in the same time. And I agree, he is a genious.

For me, Lou Reed is simply pure genious. Too much tears to go in memory lane for rating his albums. I never was a junkie or a freak, but for example Live in Italy -double vinyl album... Well oh my gawd, so sincere and right to the spot in any of the genres in this planet earth... Long may you live Mr Lou Reed, you have touched my soul more than any of the rockers after Mr Elvis Aaron Presley... God Bless you both. God bless...
