I was looking at Wikipedia the other day, and I noticed it had a cool look at random page button, and I thought to myself, "Hey man, this is a totally cool and awesome way to learn about something I had never heard of before and probably would never had thought to look up ever in my entire life."
And so I thinks to myself, "Whoah, what if Progarchives had a feature that linked the user to a random band page on the site; it would allow for under appreciated or neglected bands to exposed more and would allow people to learn about bands on the site that they might never have ever heard of during several years of browsing the site." I don't know, just a thought. |

thats one of the best ideas that I have heard in recent memory, I could really find more obscure bands that way

You know what, that's actually a really cool idea. It's not begging for immediate action, but absolutely worth considering to a good degree.

Thanks, sifting through the archives for good undiscovered band can be somewhat daunting at times

but what would be the difference between random sifting and a random search? You can just go to a genre list and search all you like..

It would be more convenient than sifting and would expose people to genres they may not normally look at. And some other reasons

Sounds promising...
A bit like the random review function someone mentioned a while ago. I'd like to see those functions incorporated as well ![]() |

Random link to an Artist page would be good, or possibly even a random album page.
