I can't find a direct article, but I'm reading a local newspaper about a study of Warwick university that says that Nobel prize winners live longer than their looser collegues. According to the article, those who win the Nobel prize live at least two more years than those who don't get it. So, it's just a matter of working really hard and beat everyone else, and you'll get your extra couple of years. Easy.

Yes, very nicely put, but in regards to the question, I prefer not to. Imagine being a decrepit corpse in 200 years while everyone around you is young and fresh....
What's the story on Grammy winners? Do they live longer? |

Living forever would also mean living before I was even born, and that would be kind of weird.

I would love to live forever if my mind could maintain its intelligence. I'm not sure i would want to live forever as a zombie. It would be amazing to see how the world changes and all that. Also death, who needs it. I cant imagine anything worse than death itself.

Interesing point, for which my dictionary could not help me find a good, pointy reply. BTW: your sig seems to be on permanent leave by now? |

I think "forever" goes forward, not backwards, so it wouldn't include the past... or doesn't it? As english is not my native language, I may be saying something horribly wrong. |

The way I see it, none of us is about to live an extra couple of years. Anyway, it must be incredibly frustrating being nominated for Nobel prize and not winning.
żIs there a Nobel prize for masturbating for peace?. I think I might have a case if I remember my puberty correctly... Edited by cuncuna - January 16 2007 at 18:38 |

When you masturbate, you are sending thousands of poor "soldiers" to a useless, forgettable death... so, if I'm applying my newly-learned english word right, masturbating for peace is an oxymoron. Edited by The T - January 16 2007 at 19:02 |

Well, so far, we both have our theory. Let's see now who gets that Nobel prize. The way I see it, we'll have to keep defending our respective positions for about 50 years and wait for the call. |

That means you'll have to defend your position and I mine... that's not fair! For you to prove your point, you can endulge yourself in pleasure-voyages, maybe undesirables if you have a partner or unnecessary if you don't feel the urge to, but pleasurable anyway.... I, on the other side, will have to live a life of abstinency until I find a recipient of the soldiers I don't want to commit genocide with.... I concede defeat. Now let me do the talking with the Stockholm guys... |

Well, you can join my crusade. I think that our work combined will provide us a pretty fair chance to receive the most embarrasing Nobel prize in history. Edited by cuncuna - January 16 2007 at 19:22 |

As long as I don't have to conduct my researches in the presence of other distinguished scholars, thank you and I'll be more than happy to join your crusade. |

It is said that older people are more likely to die than younger people, so it can be concluded that young people statistically speaking live longer.
other statistics show that the chances of you dying while reading this text are minute. so reading this text also improves your life expectancy. |

I want to be cryogenically sealed every 10 years, and be released from it for 1 year only, whereby I'd be sealed again for another 10 years. I'd die eventually, but I'd get to see the future.
My mind would be screwed though, having to deal with all those changes. Edited by Geck0 - January 17 2007 at 00:53 |
