I think the word of the seller that the sound is rather fairly good would have to suffice.  He himself said that there are two skips, one which could be smoothed out easily with digital manip, and some background noise which could be digitally reduced.  That's the best guarantee you have that it's still usable.  I think if it's properly archived ASAP, then it's a damn-good investment.

Exactly my point. This guy is not a music fan, he is a speculator. They ruin everything for  money
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Well wouldn't you rather the album get a proper release?  Who cares if he gets some profit?  As long as we're able to hear this recording, I think it's only fair if he's willing to invest in getting this licensed and released that he get something else out of it.

Granted... getting it licensed is the key thing.  The music doesn't belong to him--he'll have to get it okayed with whomever does own the copyright.

The first auction opened at $20 I'm pretty sure.  So yes... it will rise that much.
