ANIMA DOMINUM — Tempus Stetisse
Review by jonas

— First review of this album —

KAYO DOT — Kayo Dot / Bloody Panda Split
Review by nihi_l_ist (Dima)

— First review of this album —

5 stars Really good realese..Couldnt buy their disk,so had to download it via p2p.Great composition with some really interesting and new parts(tho there are parts HARD to be listened by unprepared listener..)You can hear here at the same time Toby Drivers own project and Good_Old Kayo Dot. Btw,Bloody Panda is awesome too!!Good sludge!ill give this "split" 5+!

Nice try, but information value is low, and a ref to p2p copying on the main page of ProgArchives.... Confused

BEATLES, THE — Abbey Road
Review by blindguardian (Kev)

5 stars I don't understand how most of this stuff ends up on a "progressive rock" website, but I guess that's fine. This is definitely one of the best albums I have ever purchased. I grew up listening to the Beatles, and I will never stop. "Oh Darling" is an amazing song, and many points of this CD demonstrate Paul's outstanding range.

Calling everything prog is crap though if you ask me.

This review is wonderful for a history of PFM, but says nothing about the actual album in question, other than in passing.

RAINBOW — Rising

Review by adam__77

2 stars This LP does not posses any kind of progresive music. This is a masterpeace of hard rock music. Although it is a very good LP. But my rating is for progresive characteristics and therefore it is low.

HALLOWEEN — Laz

Review by nomail

5 stars excellent album, bonnes compositions et mélodies. très bons musiciens, très pro. comme son predecesseur 'part one' (aussi excellent) la production est très faible. ce sera corrigé avec "Merlin". .... et en plus ils sont de Brest !!!

I understand it, mostly, but I doubt the same applies to most users...

PORCUPINE TREE — Up The Downstair
Review by adam__77

5 stars One of the greatest progresive album of the 90's! The mester-track - Up The Downster is hipnotising and breath taking. The final of the album is somthing unforgettible... Wonderfull music from start to the end.

under 75 words, Sleepy.

with continuations in the style:

PORCUPINE TREE — Spiral Circus Live (lp)
Review by adam__77

5 stars Superb live performence of early material! Excelent sound quality and perfect song selection - the only one curtate version of Voyage 34 - guitar solo only. This is were the live performence of Porcupine Tree start. This one is not appreciated as it should be.

LED ZEPPELIN — In Through The Out Door
Review by eanmund44

3 stars After many albums of following the same basic formula, the Zeppelin folks mustered up enough guts to try something different. Instead of the usual guitar-bash approach, the group saw the wisdom that can come from adding more keyboards to the mix (something Black Sabbath also did to spice up their music in the Sabbath B Sabboth through Never Say Die period).

While some narrow-minded listeners whined, complained, and cried like childish babies, the rest of us applauded the expansion of the Zepp sound. Maybe some people just don't like keyboards, but for many of us true prog-heads, it was a welcome relief and change of pace.

In the Evening does have the traditional Zepp sound, but with some extra keyboards. All of My Love is admittedly popish, but still tastefully done. But it takes some maturity to appreciate this one, something most younger listeners probably won't be able to handle. I'm Gonna Crawl is a beautiful quieter song with lots of mood and atmosphere, going in a territory LZ had never quite done before (this is a good thing, giving more variety to their music).

I'll admit that Hot Dog is a dumb song and one they could have replaced with something better (maybe a heavy guitar jam song or something for better balance).

Carouselambra is kind of cool, and should appeal to proggers.

In summary, not the best Zepp album, but one that definately has a place among the rest, and should be appreciated on its one terms (not for narrow and simplistic minds).

---
I appreciate good reviews as much as the next person but when someone states that anyone who disagrees with them is childish and narrow-minded it ceases to be an intelligent review and becomes a self-inflated, know-it-all rant.

The closing tag for 'bold font' seems to be missing on this one, causing everything below it to show up in boldface as well. Yet again... Wink
