Why do you think I haven't been around here much?

It's really different than any previous FF game, but I am really digging it.

I just reached the Leviathan.  The story is getting pretty interesting so far, and the game is actually pretty tough (the bosses mainly).

I'm past you a little bit,at the tomb of Raithwall. But the only thing that is taking some getting used to is the battle system.I like turn-based systems, and I had a hard time with the one in this game at first.

Since I've gotten my PS2 back (although my brother sold most of the games) I've been buying some oldies. I'm playing Tony Hawk 3,4, and Underground

Actually, I managed to roll a very nice Dwarf Fighter with high strength, dex. and con.!

I prefer to use a shield though.

Is it worth multi-classing?  I really have never been one for magic, so I always seem to avoid it.

I was playing it last night for the first time and I died, grrr, I forgot to save!  I was still in the prison bit though, so it won't take too long to get back to where I was before.

Eh yes, but only if you know what you're doing. Dualclassing is even more potentially powerful, but it requires a lot of knowhow. I guess with that fighter you'll be doing fine. I do advice you to pick the berserker kit, since it's powers give you handy immunities against nasty magical critters.
Epic.

Too late...

But I will get good stats anyhow.  I'm still in Irenicus' tower at the moment, I desperately want to see daylight, it's dark down there!

I have generally dark monitor and I can't get the settings much lighter, so navigation is a bit dodgy.

Oh and I've put the game on Hard level, so the AD&D rules will work as they should.

I've kind of only bothered with strength, dex. and con., I don't feel the others are quite as important, it's not as if I'll be a magic user anyhow.

Oh and I've also (maybe foolishly, we'll see), set my axe skill to 5 and set my shield and sword to one.  It limits me a bit, but if I find a decent one-handed axe, I'm sorted.

^^ I just played GoW at my friends. Co-Op play could be as good as Halo.
