My life not related to music? Well, these days it's pretty much sitting in front of my PC and trying to write or do translations - while posting nonsense (and the occasional intelligent response) on PA. Of course it also happens that I get to the kitchen to prepare something to eat (rarely, but it does happen), water the plants on the balcony, sit or lie down with a book, watch a DVD... though of course none of these things happen without a substantial musical accompaniment!  Ah, and I sometimes go out too... Usually in the morning because of the heat, but these days I'd rather stay at home. In autumn and winter I definitely go out more.

Thanks for asking Jim. He's almost 8 weeks old now, doing great,
he has his cranky periods and about 9 PM every night throws a real fit
(good screamer, must have inherited his mother's lungs ), but otherwise perfectly healthy, we're fattening him up quite nicely

I'm really enjoying the college life. It's such a relief from work. I just feel like everything is so easy going.

My life outside of music... rather vanilla actually....
Work at one of the largest electrical contractors in the state... do
everything for them.. estimating (have a talent for numbers) down to
electrical work (have a talent for making my hair stand on
end) Will be going back to school this spring to
complete a life's dream and finish my degree.. that having been
sidetracked by life..

I'm going to Penn State, and am majoring in History (want to become a teacher). |
good man.. great school... excellent major.. that was one of my
majors as well (changing a bunch of times) . A year short of
graduating with a degree in history.. history has always been a passion
of mine. Good luck!

BTW: I'm thinking about History too, but am beginning to stray. I want to be involved with "the now;" I'm a foreward thinking person really...."progressive" when you get down to it  . The reason I'm leaning away from History is because one of the main things that interests me (or used to) is WW2, but I'm so opposed to war now that I'm beginning to loathe the subject. Also, I want to be constantly "in the know" and on the cutting edge of what's happening technology- and culture-wise, with a progressive job, and IMO teaching is quite the opposite: quite stagnant, especially in the subject of history. So I don't really know what I'm going to do. I was planning on getting the basic credits for college first anyway and then focusing on a major. I just don't want to be involved in the management aspects of a corproation. That puts me off, but I'll be looking around. |

oh yeah.. just gave her a work to side 1 of After Bathing at Baxter's
she's a beauty. I had some pics taken but the dipsh*t who took them
decided to not use the flash and they didint turn out. I'll get
some more taken soon... I'm not near as good as honestly I used to be
... I took a long lay off but over the last year I've picked back up..

hmmm... just remember a great way to understand the now.. is to
understand how we got to the now.... try to consider the situation in
the middle east if you don't understand the history of it. I
loved history... I took a class on South Asia (India/Pakistan) and it
opened a whole new world to me and a different way of seeing
things. Seriously consider history..

Not sure yet, but my mother is a professor of communications at a university in town and has connections to a web of colleges that would offer me free tuition because of her status. I'm thinking about going to one of those for the first two years and seeing if I want to stay or go somewhere else. Who can argue against a free education?  I do want to get out of Indiana, though. It's a dead-end.

Good idea. My local county college offers 2 years free if you're in the top 20% of your class.
Oh I know the feeling....I was torn on staying home or going away. I like New Jersey....but I think I needed to get away from my NYC suburban town for a bit.

hmmm... just remember a great way to understand the now.. is to understand how we got to the now.... try to consider the situation in the middle east if you don't understand the history of it. I loved history... I took a class on South Asia (India/Pakistan) and it opened a whole new world to me and a different way of seeing things. Seriously consider history..

I do understand the basic history of the world without going into much detail, so I'm well aware as the next guy on how we got to where we are. It depresses me further. I want to distract myself as much as possible. Thus, a career in politics is out of the question.

I seriously considered a career in politics.. love it as much as history and math actually.. however
my career in politics was derailed the day an ex-girlfriend made off
with a videotape of me in drag in New Orleans at a gay bar...

I love politics as well. I...ONCE... actually thought about it. But realized that I would never do it. Besides if I ran for president oneday...I would be slaughtered.
