God help you Jody.  I was extremely disappointed in that game.  Don't expect any Shadow Hearts atmosphere from that game.  It picked up towards the middle, where it quickly declined again.  In my opinion, Shadow Hearts:Covenant and the original Shadow Hearts are better in every single way.

The graphics are great though.

Yeah, it's ok.  The characters are very strange, don't plan on meeting one that you can connect to throughout the game.  The story has it ups, but the ups aren't very up.  The downs are quie down though.

What I appreciate about it the most is the tie to the era it takes place in.  Just as Shadow Hearts had the Shanghai Earthquake and the Japaneese occupation of Japan, and Shadow Hearts:Covenant had the WWI alliance system, and the Romanov Dynasty's conflict with Rasputin, Shadow Hearts:From the New World, is a great experience of the Roaring '20s.

We need to open videogamearchives, which would be run like progarchives except for video games. LOL

No, it's not "pretty cool", it's the best! i seriously love everything about this game. The exitement i've gotten from crawling those vent shafts with a gas grenade in hand, knowing that one shot could kill me and force me to start the game all over again, then being completely taken by surprise, running for my life, backwards, while shooting like a maniac with my shotgun, ad then finding shelter in some poor parisians bedroom, where i stay for a few minutes, hoping that
the troops outside the window won't see me and sent their military bots..
I'ts only a game, but i think that it has given me more excitement than all other events of my life combined. Actually, that's kinda sad, i guess... still, great game!

My son loves the whole DMC series and we played 3 to death after we got it.

What skill are you pursuing?

My son liked Swordmaster but I preferred Gunslinger.

Currently I'm trying to master Day of Defeat: Source ... but it's a really difficult game. Yesterday I returned to Counter Strike: Source for a while and found it refreshingly simple.

I'm definitely looking forward to Team Fortress 2, which is due out by the end of the year, bundled with the amazing Half-Life: Episode 2!

Cool.

I am on my first playthrough, on the second fight with Vergil(after he got Beowulf). I am not really pursuing anything, just playing and I've got all skill styles at level 2 right now, Swordmaster and Gunslinger slightly further than the other two(I prefer offense over defense in each game I play). I am not in a hurry to max up either style, as I suspect later in the game I will have to switch styles to make things easier.

For example, in the first DMC(I haven't played the second one, heard it's not even good)I was struggling to defeat the Vergil-in-disguise(the last one)and I had to change weapons, although the first one I got was the only one I had used throughout the whole game. I found a glitch in that boss' strategy and abused it, saved me time. I eventually beat the whole game on Dante Must Die mode, now that was freaking difficult!

I am a completionist when it comes to games myself - I haven't got too many games, but the ones I have I play until I have everything completed or am completely satisfied with my skill acquired or overall results.

As for DMC 3, I must say I like it more than the first one, as the story seems more interesting, every little aspect has improved since the original and the battles are just more complex and deep with all the styles, weapons and all.
