I'm very disappointed as I wanted Brazil to just go there to the finals and destroy Germany.
The Argentinian part of me does not want Germany to win. Besides, I love Brazil's football playing.
Now, the World cup is becoming more and more meaningless.
P.S: I'm sorry England that you had to endure that horrible referee from my country.

No absolutely not. He really didn't do anything in this championship, but watch him while playing with Barcelona,
did you see his Championsleague-Games??
Usually, when he passes, he hits the foot of the other player out of a distance of 40 m... He has an incredible control over the ball, and his sharp shots are very dangerous.
But not in this world championship....
bad passes, no feeling....

Even though I am also from South Ameruica, my cabndidate was Holland and went early, I just don't want to see the same countries one afther another World Cup.
The Argentinian part of me does not want Germany to win. Besides, I love Brazil's football playing.
Now that I don't have favorites I just want to see good games and France with Germany are playing by far the best football.}
I used to love Brazilian Football with Tostao, Pele, Gerson Jair, Zico, Socrates and not those overrated and overpaid players that are only for the money.
Now, the World cup is becoming more and more meaningless.
NO way, it happens once four years and I would love to see good games, don't care from what country.
P.S: I'm sorry England that you had to endure that horrible referee from my country.
Elizondo sucjs, he always sucked a terrible referee, he got that image of fair tough guy but is part of the machinery.

If Crouch and Hargreaves are the best England players in Germany, then they are going to have real big problems. Two duffers if i ever i saw them. Beckham is done, and Terry and Ferdinand have been found out to be only subbuteo class.
The problem with the England is, they played their best players, but not their best team. The midfeild was/is a mess, no natural goal scorer, Wean (pronounced wane) Rooney, once again spat the dummy out of his pram, and Gary Neville!!!!!......WHY?
But, the good news is, Scotland laughed itself silly watching this inept team from down south blow it big style,AGAIN. Stuff the game, let's just take penalties, and never again shall scumland win a game.
Final offering............i bet the English cause more damage than the Russians ever did in Germany tonight and tomorrow.
ps Scotsman Andy Murray won his tennis game.
pps England got whitewashed at the cricket..........suicide rate hits an all time high down south. |
...no suicides down here, laddie, no inept teams, we've got far too much to look forward to. England qualify for many sporting events, so at least they try and have a go! all Scotland has is one tennis player??
I take exception to any country being referred to as "scumland" whoever they are the cap don't fit.
next European cup, World cup football, rugby, cricket, England will be there haviing a go and the jocks will be sitting in their armchairs criticising as usual!
it was rotten luck Rooney being sent off for an accidental foul and Becks' injury, but in the end we were beaten by Portugal's goalkeeper!

For Ronaldinho it was very difficult to play because Ronaldo was very static and Brasil had a very defensive line-up, there was hardly any movement forward. So Ronaldinho always had 3-4 defenders against him, almost impossible to do something good! Zidane was excellent but the forward players Henry and Ribery were moving much more so Zidane had more space. If you compare the Brasilian team and Barcelona I am sure that Ronaldinho will be glad to be back in the Barcelona team. Nonetheless, I had expected a bit more magic from Ronaldinho ... but please, don't judge this symphatic genius too harsh ...

We Jocks, as you put it, are not criticising, we're laughing at the worlds worst under acheivers. As usual, you lot think you have a god given right to win everything, unfortunately you need a decent team to do that with.
Rooney was not unlucky to be sent off, he deserved it for stamping on the poor guys nuts. Rooney the looney he should be called. Becks is done, but Eriksson was scared sh*tless to drop him, for fear of upsetting his wife who threatened to sing(!!) to him.
As for only one tennis player, at least he is still in a tournament, probably get stuffed in the next round, but where's middle class t**t Henman?
Scotland will never win anything on the football front, at least we are able to be realistic about our team, time you sourtherners need to get a grip on reality too.
Finally, what kind of supporter causes a riot in their own country over a game of footie. Quick give them back their dummy, and Rooney's too.
Long live penalty shootouts.

How many times do I have to say this?
ROONEY COULDN'T SEE WHERE HE WAS PUTTING HIS FOOT. HIS BACK WAS TURNED. THE REFEREE SAW THIS AND GAVE A FREE KICK.
At this point he wasn't reaching for his cards, but after the Portugese playrs surrounded him, he saw Rooney give a very small shove to Ronaldo, and suddenly decided it was enough for a red card.
And the reaction from the Argentinians on this board to England going out shows how utterley retarded it was to put an Argentine in charge of an England match.

I am a huge fan of Rooney, since he made his debut at sixteen years old in Everton. I am shocked about the way he left this tournament, with a red card and the mock of entire nations .... His reaction was wrong but we know this dark side of Rooney, he has made some more in the Premier League when things are not going as Rooney likes, he tend to react very primal with venomous anger, I don't understand why football fans want to defend his behaviour, he was obviously wrong to kick that Portuguese players in his bollocks. But I think that:
1) the referee had to whistle much earlier when he was attacked by the two Portuguese players
2) Rooney was very frustrated by playing in an isolated position, I blame Eriksson for this
3) I wonder or the referee has given a red card for the kick in th bollocks or the little push against the sneaky, very provoking, narcistic Christiano Ronaldo ...
I feel sorry for Rooney that his power (determination and dynamics) has turned against him ... .. his is to blame for his behaviour but he could have been more protected by his coach and the referee, I hope everybody learns something about this because England should have reached the 1/2 finals when they had played so determined with 10 men the entire tournament ...

Rooney was sent of for the stamp on the bollocks. This, according to 5 Live radio, was the reason the referee has stated is why Rooney the looney was sent off.
Why should England have reached the semi-finals? They have played with little or no flair, no imagination aand no goal threat. The teams that are in the semi's deserve to be there, because they are all better than England.

Have you noticed how the exceitement and entertainment has mostly gone out of the football now that we are at the pointy end of the World Cup tournament?
I propose an "alternative" World Cup ... once the last 16 are decided let them go on to play for the World Cup ... then let the other 16, mostly entertaining, freeflowing, adventurous, don't-give-a-damn-if-we-lose-as-long-as-we-enjoy-the-occasion teams fight out the "alternative" World Cup to keep some goals flowing and the fans entertained!
...just a thought!

What and Portugal showed any of that?
Did you see the match? When we were down to 10 men we played great, and made a few good chances. Portugal created f*ck all.

I don't think we have the god given right to win anything and nor does anyone else but England were the bookies pre-tournament favorites along with Brazil. Every nation in the world cup should believe they are there to win it, otherwise whats the point? English supporters are no different to any others, this is true of any other sport as well. Which brings me to Tennis, if Andy Murray goes into his next game with your "realistic" approach then like any self fulling prophecy he will lose. Tennis is a middle class game and Murray's father is the Director of Scottish Tennis, yeah that sets Murray apart. One thing England should never do is go into competitions believing we will lose. Unfortunately I think thats exactly what our footballers (cricketers, Tennis players, Golfers, etc) do most of the time, if you think you will lose on penaties you normally will. As for Portugal being a good side, hehehe thats just funny, they wasn't interested in attacking in with an extra man. The two most positive sides in the semi-finals are France and Germany, IMO.

I'm sorry I have been away for a bit, but after Portugal won yesterday I started drinking and drinking and drinking and well...kind of passed out. Hooray for the Portuguese! And hooray for France too!! It's unexpected that both of these teams would win, since international consensus was that England and Brazil were the better teams, or at the very least, the more popular teams. I can hardly wait for Portugal to play France on Wednesday!! I was supposed to return to work on the 5th (the 3rd and 4th being holidays for us yanks), but I am suddenly feeling a bit feverish.
Sorry to all my English and Brazilian PA mates. I shall pour myself another drink and toast all of you. But, the rest of the bottle will be consumed in honor of Portugal and France!!

It's OK, I wasn't insulted by your comments - even though I wasn't quite sure whether your little shooting smiley was aimed at me or Maradona, who I had mentioned & insulted......either way I'm cool with what you said .........and I had no intention of insulting you either, so I'm sorry if my comments looked bad - no insult intended.........Argentina are one of our traditional footie rivals - along with Germany, France, Italy, Brazil, Scotland - well, everyone, actually - so I hope you will forgive us a little bit of Schadenfreude when one of them loses.. ....
