Progman should realise that I wasn't exactly singing the praises of the England team, so his insults pass me by...........
But let's take a moment to reflect on Sven.....paid, let's not forget, somewhere in the region of £4m a year.....so you expect something half decent for that, some elementary appreciation of tactics, at least.........imagine the situation.......WC quarter final.........a man short.........3 minutes from the end of extra time.........penalty shoot out a very likely probability........one substitution remaining.......so, the obvious thing, what you & I would do (albeit we're not being paid £4m a year for our tactical knowhow) would be to bring on your best penalty taker of those left on the bench.......(well, call me naive, but that's what I would do).......so, Sven, the £4m a year man, decides that Jamie Carragher, the 4th choice centre back, is his secret weapon in this situation.......he has other midfield players to choose from......and, God help us, at least the 3rd choice goalie knows how to wellie the ball, and might have a chance of scoring........but, no, Sven, the tactical genius, has to go for the 4th choice centre back....... HAS THIS MAN NO BRAIN ?????.........c'mon, the t**t deserves to be crucified for this decision alone.......although God knows there are many, many other offences to be taken into consideration..........the writing was on the wall long, long ago, but the little troll has learnt nothing from losing in 2002 & 2004........and, what's worse, before all us England fans think Hurrah!! - no more Sven........next up is Sven McClaren.........same again........but we can't sack him for at least 4 years.........we England fans are born to suffer.....but given a moderately intelligent manager, we could do a lot better...........so my offer is, for £4m a year........I'll guarantee to do better than Sven......(and he has lousy taste in women too........his Nancy bird was described by Wogan this week as "an old boiler".......and that's a compliment....... ![Big smile](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif) ) Sir Alf's ashes could have done a better job..........

To ease your pain about Sven, Crimson Thing, he is in 'good company' this tournament regarding the frequent weird decisions made by the coaches ![Angry](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gif) , You should hear the comments about our coach Marco Van Basten, he could be the Dutch twin-brother of Sven ![Wacko](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley29.gif) ...
On this tournament many coaches also let play their teams play way too defensive (5-4-1 or even 5-3-1-1), forward players like Van Nistelrooij, Henry, Ronaldo and Rooney got very frustrated ![Censored](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley35.gif) .. This evening the same with Portugal-England and Brasil-France, the level is poor and the forward players are isolated ... ![Unhappy](smileys/smiley6.gif) .. if it remains this level I go to my balcony and catch my headphone, a good progrock CD and a good beer, have a nice weekend, fellow progheads !

France is the better team-
Ronaldo looked a little pudgy
Go team go.
PS this Ronaldhino guy? (sp?) Overrated Possibly? The best players play big in key games- and he did nothing......

Yes France deserved the win after a masterclass by Zidane. Brazil looked pale shadows of their former selves throughout the tournament. What happened with Ronaldinho...he didnt turn up to the competition at all!

Never really animated with this Brazilian team since the beginning... but well, France deserved and Zidane proved to be the best - at least playing against Brazil.
We had to keep Scollari, the 2002 champ coach and who's taking Portugal high. Now, there's no other possibility - to go with the Portuguese team.
Noticebale, the great hug Robinho gave Zidane in the end of the game! Great sportsmanship!!!
