Spinning off from http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=23260
and the suggestion by Cheesecakemouse for me to just dive in and delve
into the crazy world of prog, I got my hands on a bunch of records on
my list. Luckily, I know someone who's a fan as much as most of you
guys are, and although his collection is far from complete, I bet he's
go most of the essentials.
I just wanted an outlet where I could track/document/write down my thoughts regarding these albums and see what you guys think about it in the process. I started out with these three albums: King Crimson's "In The Court Of The Crimson King" (1969) VdGG's "H To He Who Am The Only One" (1970) Caravan's "In The Land Of Grey And Pink" (1971) All of them sound promising, but the most obviously accessible of the three is Caravan's "In The Land Of Grey And Pink". It's absolutely beautiful! Loving this album no doubt, and I'll surely try out their entire discography! After I've decently digested these albums, I'll try to post a concise impression of them, as well as the next albums I'm gonna try out. Peace! |

Hi, lastdodobird,
I suggest that after digesting these albums (and others) you submit your own reviews to be stamped in PA homepage and also to be part of your personnal page.
Check first the Reviews Guidelines and also use the same e-mail adress you registered in the forum.
Meanwhile, you can always exchange ideas and information here in the forum, including excerpts from your reviews and other related issues.
Cheers!

King Crimson's "In The Court Of The Crimson King" (1969) VdGG's "H To He Who Am The Only One" (1970) Caravan's "In The Land Of Grey And Pink" (1971) Jethro Tull "Thick As A Brick" (1972) I think I'll listen to only these for the next several days Big smile Although it's really tempting to move on to the other prog records seeing as how these four turned out!
Yeah, I sure will submit reviews! I just hope my writing will do these records justice. Actually, I was thinking of posting this thread on the main prog section, mainly because of the amount of posts that board gets, but being a newbie thread and all, it may have been better to post it here. Hopefully, this section gets a fair amount of traffic for others to exchange a lot of ideas and information. Thanks! |
