Actually the topic says it all...
Thankfully site admins managed to think of two seperate sections along with "100%" prog genres...
But I realized a great problem: how are the bands included in (especially proto prog) these sections?!?!? many clearly psychedelic bands (Iron Butterfly, Kaleidoscope) are here, but some milestones (The Who, Grateful Dead - this one is not much different than Kaleidoscope, even better, mind you!- not even Man is here!!!) are missing...
Someone please do something about this... I know it is impossible to please everyone (especially stubbornheads like me!) but some highlights are obvious, for heaven's sake! I mean, who wrote and produced the first (acclaimed) rock opera!!?!? I daresay that Who's influence on prog is much bigger than Beatles... OK, Beatles started it somehow with Sgt. ppr etc, but they clearly left it there, and moved on to bluesy grounds with White Album, Abbey Road etc. The Who even made an attempt to reconcile two hostile camps (prog and punk) in their "Who's last" album...
There are a heck lot of names than Who and the Dead, I will recall them next time I will have the chance to go into the Archives!
keep on proggin'
