Why hasn't Genesis come out with a live DVD from the early 70s. Those would sell so well. They would be so very rich. Who cares if its great A/V quality. Yessongs isn't and it's one of my favorite live DVDs.

We should start a petition, saying that we'll stop listening to Genesis (not really) until the release concert footage or have a Gabreil/Hackett/Ruthford/Collins/Banks reunion.

I wish I could have been there...

Before my time. I was a teen in the 80's. The worst decade for music ever..

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Phil, I checked and your friend Genaro is listed
on the credits of Relayer under Tapes. When you
get a chance please shed some light on how he
became involved with Yes. Thanks again for the
amazing tale.

A great description of the concert.  Ahh, a time in musical history never to be repeated.  I didn't catch them in concert until 76 after Peter had departed.  They still blew me away.

Why aren't there any bands like that anymore (besides tribute bands)?

Nice story man.

For those who have not seen yet: www.youtube.com
Search for Genesis, there are lots of great videos, including The Musical Box studio session, or Dancing With The Moonlit Knight live! Wonderful.

Please see my new post Follow Up Adventures with Yes on
how my friend Genaro ended up working with Yes.

By the way here are the shoes that I wore to My First
Genesis concert at Watford Town Hall June 1972.

You & me both - I would have been 9 year old; I will always hate my brother in law for seeing them two nights running on the 'Selling England...' tour

Wasn't that the decade that a certain Pallas released a certain album?

"The audience a little afraid of Peter..." - I believe it 'cause the first Peter's photo I saw (the Genesis Live album cover) haunted me!

What an amazing history, Philhepple!
