Topic: Trapped in the Closet: A Rock Opera Posted: January 14 2006 at 23:12 |
if you haven't heard of it already, R. Kelly wrote a rock opera entitled "Trapped in the Closet". It is perhaps the most important work of genius song writing that I have ever witnessed. Containing such classic lyrics as "My baby was gettin' down with a midget" and "Then I flip back the cover, OH MY GOD A RUBBER!"
this was complete joke if you didn't figure it out already, my buddies and I just watched this pile of crap and laughed our asses off, if you get the chance drink a few beers and watch it, it will be worth it.

ha ha, man that sucked
I can't believe how much the music press was floored by its innnovation and originality after panning prog, which unlike that drivel actually has a melody (sometimes).
Until it came out I thought R. Kelly was in jail.

I love how often it sounds like he's making up the words as he goes. And the times when he rhymes the same words over and over again...
"Then I went up to the closet, and I got into the closet, now I'm trapped in the closet, and he's walking up to the closet", etc.
Definitely one of the most unintentionally hillarious "songs" ever written.

MAD TV did a very funny parody "Locked in the cupboard"
It was about running out of Cheerios. My wife and I still sing a bit of that every morning at breakfast.

I just sat through all 12 parts, and I'm in stitches.
Wow. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this. Ahahaha.
I actually found it because it was being discussed on the Dog Fashion Disco
message boards (they're a lot like Mr. Bungle). Someone had the audacity
to say something to the effect of "It's like Adultery (DFD's latest... a
concept album) only for the hip hop world." As if DFD created the
concept album. Or at least that was the insinuation I took from it.
DFD's got some killer tunes.... but absolute idiot fans.
Anyways... I digress; Trapped in the Closet is a total riot. It's on Youtube
in its entirety if you'd like to view it. Wow.... totally hilarious.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go pry my brain off the
grill with a spatula... the same spatula Rosy the Nosy Neighbor threatened
RKelly with.
