She may not be as sexy looking as some of the above ladies but she is in my books, a beautiful and talented bass player/vocalist, best known for her work with David Bowie (though not prog - ahem)

For those males who have watched David Gilmour in Concert 2002, I think you will agree with me when I say there is something sublimely erotic about a woman who stradles a cello on stage

^ Floyd usually have three women on stage (no don't go there). In the latter shows, Sam Brown was one of them

I think the only thing she did was record TGGITS with them, I dont know if she toured with them or not. I've got the live album PULSE and the singer there is nowere near as good at singing (or as good looking).

Just remembered the name ClareTorrel

clare torry!

and she sings on roger waters' towers of faith (when the wind blows)

+ radio kaos (home + tide is turning)

she sings on tangerine dream 's yellowstone park (Le Parc) -> it approaches great gig in the sky

she also sings with a normal voice on alan parson's eve album (Don't Hold Back)

she certainly sang on other albums, but i don't remember precisely...

Could somebody make a Rachel Jones montage please..., hmm... she gets my vote!  Looks like I'm going to have to buy some Karnatarka now.

Sam Brown was nice in her day too.

Don't forget Bobby Watson from Comus.

Plus there is Lindsay Cooper (or maybe not!) from Comus and Henry Cow.

Let's not forget Laura Fowles (saxophonist and backing vocalist of Guy Manning's band)

Which reminds me!

Barbara Thompson (Jon Hiseman's wife and saxophonist) in her day, not that I can find a suitable photo mind.

Best I can do for Barbara Thompson, it's all new photos of her.

Anna Holmgren from Anglagard is nice.

Playing stylophone, classy!

Oh and does anyone know who was playing bass for Roxy Music at Live8?  Is she from an original lineup?

Non-prog, but worth a mention, because I like the band:

Abi Harding, saxophonist in The Zutons:

I know, I've seen her with Jools Holland and she still has it.

I've found one more:

Now known as Marianne Segal..., she guests on one track on the Circulus album and was in the band Jade (or Silver Jade in the US) who's 1970 album features John Wetton and James Litherland as guests.  Very nice.
