I was debating in mind whether or not to share this, but what the hell.  I was behind bars for 24 for nothing particularly noble (DUI) many years ago when I was younger and dumber.  I was never mistreated in the experience other than the handcuffs being too tight.  Being confined to a cage was the worst aspect of it.  I still can remember the bars...
