I love the remake of The Prisoner, but for subjective reasons.I have to admit I donīt know the original. I have a strong personal and emotional  connection to the town where it was shot. The Remake was shot in Swakopmund, Namibia (I actually walked through some of the sets while they set them up for filming). Swakopmund is the place where I spend many holidays since ealry childhood and seeing this place in a TV series was just magic for me. Appart from that, judging objectively, I think is was not an excellent series , but definately not a dreadful one.  But like I said, I can not compare it to the original.

I thought Harry Anderson was great, as was John Laroquette.  One of the funniest shows ever on tv for me.  Funny enough, I was never really a big fan of Markie Post or her character.  I much preferred Ellen Foley's character Billie.

24, my favorite by far.

Others I also enjoyed are The Wire, The Shield, The Sopranos, Seinfeld, House MD, Lost and Prison Break.

And that are currently on tv Justified and Breaking Bad are awesome.
I shook my head and smiled a whisper knowing all about the place

I don't watch an awful lot of TV; more so now than before.

The Office - The only show where I've followed the seasons consecutively each week for a new episode, until the completion of the season.
Arrested Development
Seinfeld
Fringe
Futurama
Dragon's Den
That 70's Show
The Twilight Zone
Flight Of The Conchords
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Corner Gas
Star Trek

Mind you, some of shows I hardly follow. Just when they're on, I'll watch them and maybe buy a season. Approve

Twin Peaks
Robin of Sherwood
Family Guy - it's the only series I'm watching today.
Nowhere Man - I liked it in the nineties... probably has dated now but I have good memories of it.

As far as I see from your posts, probably you don't know a very good series, which I strongly recommend!
It is called "Life on Mars". (Imdb rating: 8.5)
It's an English series, 2 seasons, 8 episodes on each season.
It contains lots of great music from the 60's and the70's (Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin, The Who,LOTS of David Bowie etc) and is a very interesting and weird story. I can't tell you about the plot because I don't think I can explain it so well.
But my suggestion is to give it a try sometime. It surely worth it!
Oh! and it is a BBC production... Wink

Thank you all for participating! I hope more will join here and write their most beloved series.
I have to admit that I see many series I have no idea about! You are giving me new ideas! Wink
I also forgot to mention "Rome". Another excellent series, although lasted only for 2 seasons...
A couple of days ago I started watching "Homeland". It looks like a very good one!
