2 Pac raps about death and died, Biggie Smalls did the same and died, their is also some 50 cent songs about death and being shot (he have been shot 9 times in the chest and survived). Kanye West raps also about death since he experienced a nearly fatel car crash when he was like 20 or so, so he had to reconstruct hes jaw.

By death, I don't mean about murder or war, I just mean about dying and the effect it has on family and friends, and especially about the spiritual aspect of dying and facing your own mortality.

After thinking about how the only person who was significant to me died, I thought that rap would be a good genre to express the feelings associated with it. After all, rap is a genre that's sort of intended to be in your face, and there's nothing subtle about death.
