this might give a hint of their sound earlyer everithing from the first uptil the 10th (X) is recomended artsy rock, jazz fusion clever songwriting, r&b hooks, and soulfull, classical influenced.

also think that it is Peter Cetera who is the BASS player in Chicago and hi do some incredible frettwork

I really know very little about Chicago. In the 70's I remember my parents buying the 7" of 'If you leave me now' and I have always loved that song, in particular the string arrangements.

I remember a Peter Cetera song called 'The glory of Love' (?) which did nothing for me at all. The only other Chicago song I remember is 'You're the inspiration' again, does nothing for me.

I would be interested in hearing more Chicago from the 70's. Could their early stuff, be considered in any way 'art rock' or is it all pretty 'middle of the road'

Edit: Ok, I only just realised they were listed in the archives. I'll read the reviews.

what is your favourite 80s Chicago song (or poppy tune) remember If You Leave Me Now is hardly an 80s tune, it is from mid 70s (76),

no i would like some honousty, and don't feel ashamed that you once in a while can listen to some fantstic melodic rock, filled with passion, epic instrumental cimax, and fantastic tenor vocals by Cetera, Sheff and the wonderfull deep baritone of Bill Champlin (he have one great voice I tell yah)
