This Town Needs Guns s/t is MR for sure but Animals becomes more crossover with some mathy tendencies. It's one of the Alternative bands that sounds mathy but crossover because of the punky vocals and such. Minus the Bear is a case of this Alt-Math playing but they're a much better band.

Yeah, it's really a shame TTNG is under Crossover! They're the band that got me more into math-rock, along with Maps and Atlases.
In other news, I discovered the post-metal band Intronaut over the weekend (as they're playing at Roadburn 2013), and it surprised me that they're in the Archives. They're described as progressive/stoner metal/post-metal/death metal. It works out amazingly!

^^ Pardon my dyslexia of Post/Math and Post Metal. My question was also very open ended.
Post/Math seems to be a genre I think I may like and from my listen of Perhaps, that one may be on the more aggressive side of this genre (based on reading the correct genre description and my little knowledge). I still liked it however.

I'm fairly new to post rock, but a band I've really gotten into in the past few months is Bark Psychosis. I bought both of their albums and have been enjoying the crap out of them! Just really awesome, atmospheric music. Some of the best music I've listened to at night. Not sure what it is, but it just sets the mood.

While looking for an RPI album on Amazon.com, I saw the Perhaps-Volume 1 album for download for only 89 cents! I kept seeing this band's reviews popping up in PA so I grabbed it up. This was my first listen to any Post/Math music as I thought I would not like it based on its description, but after only 1 listen this evening, I am intriqued.
Is this album a good representation of what the top bands in this genre may sound like?

Thanks to this thread, I've been listening to all of GY!BE's material. I owe you guys one, this is some great stuff. "Lift Your..." is probably my favorite album from them, it's pure excellence.

@angelmk, agreed. I'm just happy they're active again. The songs on the new record have actually been written for years, in fact they played the lengthier songs on the Yanqui U.X.O. tour with different names.
Lets hope they take some time from playing shows, and write another masterpiece from scratch.
