I collect old comic books and recently I got a load of old Daredevils. Among them was Daredevil #77, June 1971.
It's not a very good story- actually it's pretty crappy. So why am I talking about it?
Well, (and I didn't know this before I read it, came as a complete surprise) on pg 17, the strange teardrop shaped cocoon that has been calling for Submariner, explodes. And the caption reads "THE TEARDROP EXPLODES!"
Yes, this is the comic book that gave famous Liverpudlian musical weirdo Julian Cope the name of his most famous band, The Teardrop Explodes. Pretty neat if you're a nerd like me. I wonder if there are crazed Cope fans out there who would pay big money for that issue? ;)
Have you got any unusual cultural/musical artefacts in your possession?
