I received one from "the self proclaimedPresident" of an African Bank (The only one with a Yahoo mail), who said a whole family had died in an accident and left 10 USMD (That's how they wrote US$ 10'000,000, I guess the M stands for Millions) unclaimed.
 
What was really terrible, is that they sent me a link from the BBC onljne where a news about a whole familiy who had a plane accident was posted.
 
This was creepy, even for scum as this guys, to play with tyhe pain of the poeple.

For some strange reason, the Nigeria spammers love the police in the UK. In particular those addresses where you can report Nigeria spam mails. These email accounts get tonnes of Nigerian mails every day..... directly from the spammers in the internet cafeterias in Nigeria.  

I also get my fair share of Nigeria mail. But not as much as the local police force. It is a menace, but one of those menaces I have to live with, I am afraid.

I've had my main e-mail address for so long, I'm fairly sure 99% is spam, granted there are some "spams" I've signed up for.  I'm pretty sure my penis has gotten larger just by coming in contact with those I didn't sign up for..  
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Yeah, I got one from an Australian camel farm owner who thought a male camel writing reviews for a music website would enhance the gene pool in that camel farm. I turned her down because I prefer my life in Mecca (the bingo halls).

Have you noticed all 419 African Scam (It's not only Nigeria, also Senegal and many other countries) have several alarms:

  1. Letters and PM's have a terrible grammar.
  2. I once received one telling me I won 12 million bucks on a lottery I never paid for, and the "so called President" of the institution that was going to give me US$ 12'000,000, had a hotmail address.  LOL
  3. All ask absolute secrecy...Hey, if somebody gives you a lot of money, the last thing they will want is you to keep silent instead of making them propaganda.

You need to be a total idiot to fall in this scams, but according to the FBI; this is a several million dollars business

I know.. it does amaze me that people fall for those kinds of things.  Then again ...idiots and dreamers do exist and are always looking for a way to get a quick buck.  You figure you sent off a million of those things.. and all you get are  4 or 5 people..  you just got YOUR retirement and savings set up.. 4 or 5 times over.  LOL Oh well... not much sympathy for those that fall for it... except for when you hear about older folks, who probably are bit more trusting.. and a world less cynical than most today.  I had a email the other day, supposedly from a lawyer telling me they needed to get in contact with me to settle an estate.  To be honest.. my parents could be dead now and I wouldn't know it since I haven't spoken to either in years... but the email went right into the delete bin.  Seriously... if someone could get my email address.. they damn sure could get my cellphone address and call me. I'm a lifer at my job and not hard to find if someone really wanted or needed to.

I got one of these as well, but how do we know it's spam? It seems perfectly logical that beautiful young women will register on a site like this in the hope of meeting a middle aged prog fan like me or some of the other denizens of the Shed. People have often remarked on my similarity to Brad Pitt*.
