^ really? OK I'll take that-- they were a terrific little band, very honest music.. I remember getting a bootleg of that show but the sound was beyond horrendous even as boots go

My first gig was Iron Maiden on the Killers tour in 1981 (with Paul Di'Anno on vocals) supported by Trust.

My first concert was Ravi Shankar, my sis took me when I was 12 years old. That got me hooked on sitars and tablas!! Bring on the Amon Duul 2!
First concert I went to on my own was Captain Beyond & Alice Cooper (School's Out tour), 1972. Both bands were AMAZING!
Then it was Yes, CTTE tour. The rest is history.

First concert was a Johnny Cash show my parents took me to when I was 8 or 9 years old. Must have been 1967 or '68.
First rock concert. Blood, Sweat & Tears in February of 1971.
First prog show, Kansas sometime in 1975.
Strangest pairing, Stevie Ray Vaughn opening for Men at Work in 1984.
Most Recent, Richard Thompson. " Motorhead ( everything sounded the same )" You sound surprised?

My first concert was probably an open air classical gig when I was 5 years old.
My first rock concert was a free KISS outdoor concert at a Motor GP
My first gig on my own was Porcupine Tree, a few weeks ago!

For me, it was Roger Waters.
But the best concert(s) I've attempted was VDGG or Rouge Ciel.

First rock concert: Paul Revere and The Raiders! Sometime around '67. That was a great band, a pure singles machine for a year or two. If you can find it, just listen to the bass on Hungry. It's a beast.
First prog concert: ELP, sometime in late '71 or early '72. But imagine this, who was the opening act? Mahavishnu Orchestra!

Can you tell me where we're headin'?

My first concert was Yes on thier 35th Anniversary Tour at the Glasgow SECC in 2004. Other concerts were Rush, again at the Glasgow SECC and Wishbone Ash at Lochgelly in Fife. I'm going to see Yes again on thier next tour! My mum was the one who got me into prog, but my whole family are rock fans and musicians. I was brought up essentially on a staple diet of the following bands:
Led Zeppelin, Yes, Rush, Van Halen, Crosby,Stills and Nash, Black Sabbath, Wishbone Ash, The Allman Brothers, AC/DC, Bad Company, UFO, Return To Forever, The Steve Miller Band, The Beatles, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Uriah Heep and Steely Dan.
...and there's a hell of a lot more where that came from! However, those are the biggies...

Does this count ? Maynard Ferguson. He palyed at our school. Peter Erskine was on drums. Gordon Johnson did a freaky bass solo.
First rock concert : Alice Cooper. Goes To Hell tour I think.
First Prog : Grobschnitt Merry Go Round or Rockpommel's Land tour I think. They played Solar Music and had the big flying bird.. Concert was about 3 hours. Solar music was second half. I was only 16! On a school trip to Holland & Germany. The kid's big brother who I was billeted with had some sort of conection and snuck us in!
Loudest concert : King Crimson Discipline tour. Fripp had some sort of octave divider he wanted to torture us with in the front row. Not good for my tinitus.
2nd loudest concert : Motorhead ( everything sounded the same )
