Oh, I didn't notice the question: I just moved to Paris the very day you aked this question.
I used to live in the South-East, Provence, near Toulon. And I can guarantee that Les Lilas can't be described as "provincial": you can go from the center of Paris to Les Lilas by the metro.
It would be as accurate as saying that Bromley is "provincial".

^ Not to mention I also got to see Magma and One Shot there at Le Triton, all in June, at very affordable prices. Tongue

Of course my assertion was inadequate to describe it musically, but the restaurant looked very provincial.

I'll ask my wife if she wouldn't mind moving to France so I can attend gigs at Le Triton all the time.  She'd love the wine, at least.

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend the Aranis concert. And even if I had the chance, I am quite out of money, as I just paid for the One Shot concert and another concert later this June (The Mars Volta al L'Olympia).

I'm still waiting for a few photos from the concert, who were promised to me by a photographer who made quite a shooting session during the session. When I get them I'll post them here.

Thanks for the comments and the suggestions!

In either case, UZ seems to be the godfather to Aranis, now that DAAU is almost dead (or so it seems).

Daniel Denis seems to get them international gigs. He 's the one who gave me a ticket to see Aranis two years ago, so I could check them out.

And I was astounded that Assaf had already included them in PA.

Indeed very good - same league as UZ?  Not sure about that.

They're still quite young and I'm not sure they'll be around that long,

Their music is very positive anbd happy, which is a complete constrast to UZ's seious, solen and gloomy sonic landscapes.

Ok, maybe I should have said "(big) family" instead of "league". Wink Didn't mean to imply they're as good as UZ (they're definitely not), but...whatever...

And let's not forget the more melancholic or eerie parts that contrast the "positive and happy" either.

They were supposed to recording that show for their upcoming DVD.

And if you're around for Aranis onthe 10th, you won't regret it. These five chicks (+2 guys) are hot and their chamber rock is astounding.

They'll steal the show at the RIO fest.
