Topic: Can WE be infected? Posted: July 16 2008 at 15:30 |
I don't get what is so amazing with FireFox, I installed in on my last lappie........ it never worked properly, I had a tonne of annoying "extra" tool bars I couldn't lose and it was a right royal pain in the butt!
Never had a problem with IE, I never had a glimmer of a virus either :-)
Ever since that last attack I have had a mighty problem with PA, is it just me?
P-C
I do like big macs tho

You wouldn't if they were as popular as PCs, and the virus writers wrote exploits for Macs instead. Remember that the script kiddies always go for the biggest target. More people have PCs running Windows, hence more viruses are written for Windows than any other O/S.

Trust me, NO software is thoroughly tested
However, it's definitely worth using FireFox, as it's
a) Better than IE
b) Better tested than IE
c) Less expoited than IE by the script kiddies (like Macs), so you're less likely to get a virus
d) Much easier to submit issue reports and get stuff fixed
I always use the latest version I can, because I test software for a living, and get a kind of satisfaction when I find bugs...

The important thing is not to stop questioning.

oh! thx for the advise.

Hey, but, there's nobody answering my question. I'm not talking about any page, I'm talking about PA, with this problem of the infections of something, is it possible that these attacks on PA can also affect the PA member?

Is it too soon to be into Firefox 3? I see its out there but do you guys usually wait a certain period of "debug" time before grabbing the latest browser version?

^ virus software is important, but as far as hacked websites are concerned it's even more important to always have the latest version of your web browser.

You can get infected from any number of web sites if you have insufficient virus protection on your PC.

Well the question is: Can we, PA members, be infected with any virus or hack or whatever when it's injected on PA?
